摘要： Trim strips are provided for decorating automobile doors and the like. The trim strips are of generally rectangular shape and have a length longer than the width of the door that is to be decorated. The trim strip includes a foil member whose upper surface is provided with a decorative pattern. A partial section of the upper surface of the foil member bears a weather-resistant and impact-resistant plastic overlay having radiused edges and providing a lens effect to the foil member. The plastic overlaid section of the foil member is essentially coextensive with the width of the door to be decorated. When the trim strips of the invention are applied to a door, the uncoated ends of the foil member are wrapped around the door edges and bonded to the door's underside.

摘要： An elongate trim strip comprising an elongate moulding, said moulding having a flat surface for receiving adhesive or otherwise attaching the strip to the body of a vehicle, a longitudinal channel formed in said moulding, a decorative surface in said channel and a weather-resistant and impact-resistant plastic overlay having radiused edges which provides a lens effect to the decorative surface beneath. Also a trim strip consisting essentially of an elongate decorative foil member having an upper surface and a lower surface and sharply defined peripheral edges, said upper surface having thereon a weather-resistant and impact-resistant overlay having radiused edges and providing a lens effect to said foil member, said overlay being formed by overcoating said upper surface of said foil member with a fluent clear plastic material which flows to said sharply defined peripheral edges and forms a positive meniscus and curing said plastic material.

摘要： A method and apparatus for coating a glass container witb a layer of plastic whereby the container rotates about a horizontal axis and moves past a coating station. A plurality of liquid applicator nozzle means, positioned above the coating station, supply uncured plastic liquid to associated areas on the container. Means are provided for supplying predetermined quantities of uncured plastic liquid to respective ones of the nozzle means such that each nozzle means provides a coating of desired thickness and composition on its associated bottle area. The container is also rotated during the subsequent curing of the plastic.
