Abstract:
A system and method for acquisition of neighbor cell information are provided. A serving cell receives a request for neighbor cell system information, and in response to the request, the serving cell transmits neighbor cell system information.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method are provided for testing a secondary servo control circuit in a redundant control configuration. A first circuit is configured to receive a control signal and to control an attribute of an actuator based on the control signal using a first control input of the actuator. A second circuit is configured to test operation of an actuator circuit using a test signal. The actuator circuit includes at least part of the second circuit and a second control input of the actuator. The test signal is selected to avoid causing independent motion of the actuator. The actuator could be a dual coil servo valve, and the test signal could be a current (such as a DC current, an AC current, or a pulsed current) having a magnitude less than a bias current of the actuator.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus in a user equipment is described, the method comprising, at the user equipment: receiving data from a cell in a wireless network; if reading of the data is unsuccessful, determining a signal quality metric for a signal received from the cell; and when reading of the data is unsuccessful and when the signal quality metric meets a criterion, initiating a procedure associated with cells for which reading of the data is unsuccessful.
Abstract:
A radio link timeout procedure for call re-establishment is provided. A mobile station receives signals over a wireless link, determines whether there is a potential call re-establishment as defined by at least one condition, and decides whether radio link failure has occurred on the basis of the signals received over the wireless link such that while there is a potential for call re-establishment as defined by the at least one condition, a decision that a radio link failure has occurred is made earlier than if there is no potential for call re-establishment.
Abstract:
A method for multiplexing voice and data communication using a communications network is presented. In the method, at least one voice bit from a voice bit stream is retrieved, and at least one data bit from at least one data bit stream is retrieved. When the voice bit stream is not in a discontinuous transmission (DTX) period, the at least one voice bit and the at least one data bit are used to generate a modulated symbol. The method includes transmitting the modulated symbol using the communications network.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a formulation containing curcuminoids exhibiting enhanced in vivo bioavailability and resultant improved efficacy, said formulation comprising curcuminoids and a gel forming, non digestive and soluble dietary polysaccharide fiber galactomannan and proteins derived from fenugreek [Trigonella Foenum graecum]. The invention also relates to a process for producing the said formulation and extracting non-digestible soluble dietary polysaccharide fiber galacomannans containing proteins from fenugreek seeds.
Abstract:
A system and method for aircraft performance predictions for climb flight phase is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of aircraft performance predictions for climb flight phase in a flight management system (FMS) includes determining current predicted aircraft state using a total energy of the aircraft. Further, excess energy available in an engine of the aircraft is computed. Furthermore, a change of speed of the aircraft is computed at a given point in the climb flight phase. Kinetic energy (KE) change required is then computed for the computed speed change. Remaining energy available is then computed based on the computed KE change. The aircraft performance predictions for the climb flight phase are then computed using the determined current predicted aircraft state.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for facilitating a financial transaction. During operation, the system receives a request for a financial transaction from a merchant, wherein the financial transaction involves a payment to the merchant. Next, the system obtains a unique transaction identifier for the financial transaction. The system then associates the unique transaction identifier with the request to facilitate reconciliation of the financial transaction. Finally, the system forwards the request along with the unique transaction identifier to one or more financial institutions for subsequent processing of the financial transaction, which can involve reconciliation and/or settlement of the financial transaction.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for gathering state information for an application and kernel components called by the application. An implementation of a component to execute in a kernel space is instantiated in a user space. An application invokes a call to the component in the kernel space. The call to the component in the kernel space is invoked and an implementation of the component in the user space is invoked to execute the call in the user space. State information related to the execution of the call to the component in the user space to include in checkpoint information for the application is gathered.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method is presented for implementing and controlling a voltage converter with one input voltage and multiple output voltages. In the case of boost and buck-boost converters, a converter circuit with one inductor and a switched group of parallel connection capacitors is realized, one parallel connection for each output voltage. A duty ratio is monitored for the inductor and the switched group of capacitors to provide a set of duty ratios. The duty ratios form a control vector which describes the control inputs. The output voltages are the control outputs describing a MIMO system. A generalized Cuk-Middlebrook modeling approach is applied to the voltage converter, along with linearization and MIMO control methods to regulate all output voltages to desired levels.
