    摘要： A method and system for a wireless device configured to communicate with a network is presented. The network is communicated with at a radio link control layer. An indication is communicated to the network that a higher layer protocol is operating in an acknowledged mode. The higher level protocol is above the radio link control layer. In some implementations, the higher level protocol terminates at a device located outside the network. A resource allocation is received from the network. The resource allocation is at the RLC layer.

An example method disclosed herein for a wireless device to perform measurements in a mobile communication network comprises receiving configuration information for periodic downlink pilot measurements to be performed by the wireless device, the configuration information including an upper limit on a number of neighbor cells for which periodic downlink pilot measurements are permitted to be reported, and performing the periodic downlink pilot measurements in accordance with the configuration information.

A mobile station receives signals over a wireless link, determines whether there is a potential call re-establishment as defined by at least one condition, and decides whether radio link failure has occurred on the basis of the signals received over the wireless link such that while there is a potential for call re-establishment as defined by the at least one condition, a decision that a radio link failure has occurred is made earlier than if there is no potential for call re-establishment.

A disclosed example method involves receiving a poll from a network during a first radio block period and identifying a resource for use in sending requested information to the network in response to the poll. The resource occurs during a subsequent radio block period, and the subsequent radio block period is separated from the first radio block period by at least one radio block period not assigned to the mobile station for transmission by the mobile station. The example method also involves transmitting a response to the poll.

    摘要： Example methods and apparatus to communicate data between a wireless network and a mobile station are disclosed. A disclosed example method involves identifying a first quantity of resources for use in communicating first data to a mobile station in a first radio block period and a second quantity of resources for use in communicating second data to the mobile station in a second radio block period. The total quantity of the first and second quantities of resources comply with a maximum allowable quantity of resources specified for a plurality of radio block periods including the first and second radio block periods. The example method also involves sending, to the mobile station, the first data in the first quantity of resources during the first radio block period and the second data in the second quantity of resources during the second radio block period.
