Abstract:
A vacuum cleaning head includes a housing having an agitator in the form of a brush bar rotatably arranged in a chamber having an air inlet and an air outlet and also includes an air turbine for driving the brush bar is provided. The air turbine has its own air inlet for admitting clean air to drive the turbine. A restricting member is arranged in the outlet of the chamber so as to restrict the cross-section of the outlet when the head is pressed against a surface to be cleaned and to restrict the flow of air from the brush bar chamber. The restricting member is designed to distribute incoming air between the main inlet and the turbine inlet in a satisfactory ratio. Thus, more air flows through the turbine, enabling it to drive the brush bar at high rotational speed.
Abstract:
In one form the present invention provides an apparatus in an airflow path before a particle detector, wherein the apparatus removes a substantially constant proportion of all sizes of airborne particles from the airflow over time. In an example the apparatus includes a flow splitting arrangement configured to divide a fluid flow into a plurality of sub-flows, the splitting arrangement 10 including means for defining a plurality of substantially identically dimensioned flow apertures configured to direct a portion of the fluid into a respective sub-flow.
Abstract:
A physically and technologically secured Network Operating Center (NOC), which collects physiological samples, including but not limited to fingerprints, voice prints, DNA samples and retina scans and commonly known information including but not limited to name, date of birth and social security number on a plurality of individuals and storing said samples and information on scalable enterprise data clusters; by request through technological means from a plurality of entities to include but not limited to corporations, retailers, financial institutions, government agencies and/or individuals, the data clusters will compare stored physiological sample(s) to the entity's supplied sample(s) for verification of match, furthermore, date of birth for matched physiological sample can be transmitted.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing downside protection of stock market investments. The present invention allows stock prices to be expressed as a stop loss percentage of the high value the stock price attains rather that a fixed or “hard entered” number. The stop loss percentage of the high value allows stock prices the freedom to increase in price while protecting gains that are being made and still providing downside protection for market declines. The system receives security information input from the user and also data link information of current stock information, the system determines new high values and calculates a sell threshold price based on the stop loss percentage and the high value of the security. When the market price is less than the sell threshold price, the system notifies the user or automatically sells the security.
Abstract:
The present invention is a system and method for providing access to electronic works over a network. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention offers a user access to electronic copies of works, such as songs, albums, movies, or music videos, over a network. The user responds to the offer by requesting to access to a particular work. Before such a request is granted, the present invention may verify that the user is authorized to access to the work. In one embodiment, the user verifies that they are authorized to access an electronic copy of the work by demonstrating that they possess a physical copy of the work. In another embodiment, the user verifies that they are authorized to access an electronic copy of the work by demonstrating that they ordered or purchased a copy of the work. If a user's authorization is verified, the user may then be provided with access to an electronic copy of the work by such techniques as downloading or streaming.
Abstract:
A method for performing business control task notification is proposed. The method comprises processing a combination of one or more databases and one or more user profiles to generate a schedule template and receive a request for a schedule. A computer program product compares attributes of the request for the schedule to a user profile and a schedule template to identify one or more events of the schedule template to be accessed from one or more of a plurality of distributed databases and forms a query to be sent to the one or more distributed databases. The query is sent to a particular database among the plurality of distributed databases. The computer program product receives a positive response to the query, indicating that the particular database contains a first event for the schedule, and the event. In response to receiving the event, the schedule is created. The schedule is stored. One or more current events in the schedule requiring a notification are identified, and the notification is sent to a destination.

Abstract:
A system, pharmacy management software, and related methods of enhanced pharmaceutical operations in patient care facilities are provided. The pharmacy management software, for example, can include instructions that when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform the operations of providing instructions to pharmaceutical storage and electronic dispensing carts positioned at various patient care facilities according to patient specific prescription requirements, receiving dispensing data from each of the carts, and providing separate billing records including billing data indexed by reimbursement provider for each patient at the patient care facilities. The operations can also include consolidating the billing data by patient, by patient care facility, by remote pharmacy, and/or consolidating billing data by reimbursement provider, and submitting separate consolidated reimbursement claims electronically to each respective reimbursement provider.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a method for replacing an existing Differentiated Services Code point (DSCP) value with a new DSCP value, or augmenting an existing DSCP value with a new DSCP value is described. In an example embodiment, a new DSCP value is generated, added to the value field of a protocol session and transmitted to another device. The protocol session may be SIP, SDP, RTSP or some other suitable protocol. In an example embodiment, a system is described wherein a first device is operatively coupled to a second device in a peer to peer configuration, wherein communications between the first and second device is controlled by a third device.
Abstract:
A database is queried with on demand database query reduction A query document includes global variables selectively set off by first tags identifying a first global variable as a complete replacement variable and by second tags identifying a second global variable as a complete removal string. An agent is provided for building from the query document an expanded query by replacing any variables set off by first tags with runtime strings, setting off any unions in the query document, and selectively replacing any variables set off by second tags and removing the second tags without replacing variables set off by second tags.
