Abstract:
An electromagnetic sensing apparatus is provided for a touch screen having a display and a soft key. The electromagnetic sensing apparatus includes a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) including a display area corresponding to the display and a sub-area corresponding to the soft key, a controller including channels, which controls electromagnetic sensing of the electromagnetic sensing apparatus, and a plurality of loop units that extend from the channels and output current induced by an electromagnetic field. At least one of the plurality of loop units includes a first sub-loop arranged in the display area and a second sub-loop arranged in the sub-area. At least one of the plurality of loop units includes a first sub-loop arranged in the display area and does not include a second sub-loop.
Abstract:
An ElectroPhoretic Display (EPD) for changing a display is provided. An apparatus having the EPD applies a driving voltage with a periodic pulse to first color particles for a voltage applying period of the first color particles if a current temperature is below a predetermined temperature. The apparatus applies a driving voltage with a pulse that is kept at the same level as applied to second color particles for a voltage applying period of the second color particles. The first color particles have a higher mobility than the second color particles.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic sensing apparatus built in a touch screen having at least one soft key is provided, in which a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) has at least one sub-area corresponding to the at least one soft key, a controller has at least one input/output channel and controls electromagnetic sensing of the electromagnetic sensing apparatus, and a loop unit extends from one of the at least one input/output channel, has at least one sub-loop arranged in the at least one sub-area on the PCB, and outputs current induced by an electromagnetic field. Each sub-loop outputs a different output value with respect to the electromagnetic field.
Abstract:
An integrated digitizer display is provided, which includes a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) substrate and a sensor electrode. A TFT and an organic light emitting layer are formed on a first surface of the TFT substrate, and the sensor electrode is formed on a second surface of the TFT substrate, where the second surface is opposite to the first surface.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a waveguide member and a keypad assembly including the same. The waveguide member includes a waveguide for guiding light propagated inside, and at least one recess formed in a direction perpendicular to a direction of guidance of light coupled to the inside of the waveguide so that light guided by the waveguide is reflected to the waveguide. The keypad assembly includes a keypad having at least one key button and an elastic sheet fixing the key button, a waveguide member positioned beneath the keypad, the waveguide member having a waveguide for guiding light coupled to an inside and at least one recess for reflecting light guided by the waveguide to the waveguide, and a switch pad positioned beneath the waveguide member so as to establish an electric contact when the key button is pressed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a display device having a gas input barrier, which encapsulates a gas barrier layer through lamination and blocks the input of outside gas (moisture, water, oxygen, and the like) through further compression. The disclosed display device includes first and second gas barrier layers provided with an adhesive layer; a first gas input barrier provided at a lateral side of the first and second gas barrier layers to encapsulate the first and second gas barrier layers through lamination, and to block input of outside gas; and a second gas input barrier which is further compressed on the first gas input barrier by using a compression jig, and blocks an input path of the outside gas into the first gas input barrier.
Abstract:
A key pad lighting apparatus for a portable terminal includes: a waveguide in which a plurality of key buttons are arranged at one surface thereof; at least one light source provided at one side of the waveguide for introducing the light into the waveguide; and a guide member surrounding the light source for preventing a discharge of the light and for guiding the light into the waveguide. The key pad lighting apparatus can uniformly illuminate the key buttons installed in the key pad with a few light source using less light sources which helps to reduce the power consumption.
Abstract:
An illumination apparatus includes at least one light source for outputting light, a light guide for guiding light input from the at least one light source through multiple reflections in the light guide, at least one groove formed on the light guide to reflect incident light, and a light extraction pattern formed on a surface of the light guide to output the incident light to an exterior of the light guide.
Abstract:
A reflection type display apparatus has a front light unit (FLU), and includes a display panel, a light guide disposed on the upper surface of the display panel, a light transparent adhesive layer attaching the lower surface of the light guide to the upper surface of the display panel, and a light source located at a side of the light guide for emitting light to the light guide. A protection window covers the light guide and the light source. By covering the display panel installed on the lower surface of the protection window and the light guide with a moisture-proof and light-shield film, moisture-proofing and light-shielding effects are obtained simultaneously. Further, by forming a light absorption layer at the edge of the light guide adjacent to the light source, generation of a hot spot at the edge of the light guide may be inhibited.
Abstract:
A keypad assembly including a light guide plate, a keypad, and reflective layers is disclosed. The light guide plate includes reflective patterns that are locally formed on the bottom surface of the light guide plate to reflect a part of light going into the light guide plate to the top surface of the light guide plate. The keypad includes a pad that is in the shape of a box whose bottom is opened by sidewalls and surrounds the remaining portions of the light guide plate except for the bottom surface of the light guide plate and at least one key button placed on the top surface of the pad and outputting light reflected from the reflective patterns to their outside. The reflective layers are formed at the sidewalls of the pad facing the sides of the light guide plate to reflect light irradiated from the sides of the light guide plate back to the sides of the light guide plate.
