摘要: An optical element covering member capable of improving insufficiency in rigidity of the optical element while an increase in thickness of a liquid crystal display device or deterioration of display characteristics of the liquid crystal display device is reduced, a backlight provided with the optical element covering member, and a liquid crystal display device are provided. The optical element covering member includes at least one optical element, a support medium for supporting the at least one optical element, and a covering member for covering the at least one optical element and the support medium. The at least one optical element and the support medium constitute a stack.

摘要: A screen for displaying an image by projection light includes: a selectively reflective layer having reflection properties with respect to light in a specific wavelength region corresponding to the projection light, and having absorption properties with respect to light in a wavelength region other than the specific wavelength region. 摘要: A reflective screen includes a light reflecting layer, and a light diffusing layer provided on the light reflecting layer. The light diffusing layer has the diffusion property that in one (A axis) of two perpendicular axial directions on a light diffusion plane, a luminance distribution curve versus incidence angle is asymmetric with respect to the zero-incidence-angle axis, and the side on which the incidence angle (half-luminance incidence angle) with half of a peak luminance on the A axis in the normal direction to the screen plane is small faces in a direction in which external light has the highest strength.

摘要: A projection screen includes a plurality of convex portions serving as a light diffusion control portion, on the surface of a substrate. An optical thin film overlies the substrate and has convex portions having the same shape as that of the convex portions of the substrate. When external light enters the optical thin film with light in three primary color wavelength bands, the optical thin film reflects only the light in the three color wavelength bands and absorbs at least visible light of the external light. When light in the three primary color wavelength bands perpendicularly enters the optical thin film, the rays of the light have incident angles at the convex portions of the optical thin film and diffuse-reflected at angles twice the incident angles. Thus, a predetermined percentage of the light is diffused to increase the viewing angle of the screen.
