Abstract: A data model is derived from transaction data. The model is represented in a combination data structure for a tree and a hash table. The hash table provides direct access to leaves of the tree, each leaf comprises a frequency count for a particular unique basket of items detected in the transaction data. Mining the combination data structure does not require recursive traversal of the tree. Moreover, derivation is performed with just two passes on the transaction data, during each pass multiple concurrent reducer tasks handle a unique portion of the transaction data providing parallel processing during creation and derivation which improves the processor elapsed time to complete the combination data structure. Furthermore, updates to the data structure are incremental without requiring any additional passes on the original transaction data and without requiring full traversal of the tree. Output from the mining is provided as input to predictor services.

Abstract: Real-time images of individuals and items on shelves of a store are analyzed for behaviors of the individuals and stocking levels of the items on the shelves. Abstract: A system and method for operating a terminal such as an automated teller machine or other type of self-service terminal having a primary partition of a hard disk encrypted with a disk encryption key (DEK). At the initial installation and after every boot, a pre-boot manager encrypts the DEK with a new key encryption key (KEK) and then splits the encrypted DEK into a plurality of encrypted DEK parts. The pre-boot manager next stores the plurality of encrypted DEK parts in randomized storage locations on an unallocated portion of a hard disk and encrypts a list of the randomized storage locations of the plurality of encrypted DEK parts with the KEK and storing the encrypted list in a location on the unallocated portion of the hard disk. Finally, the pre-boot manager stores the KEK, optionally in an obfuscated format, in a location on the unallocated portion of the hard disk.

Abstract: A user provides retailer-specific consents for access and use to private/sensitive information of the user. The private/sensitive information is centrally stored in a privacy vault. Retail services (retailer) that the user subscribes to are provided a user-specific and consent-specific token representing the user and consents to usage of specific private/sensitive information of the user. When the retailer has a need for user-specific private/sensitive information, the retailer presents the user-specific and consent-specific token to the privacy vault. Assuming, the retailer was given access to the requested private/sensitive information defined in the token, the privacy results returns the requested information to the retailer; otherwise, an unauthorized message is returned from the privacy vault to the retailer. The user defines the consents to each retailer and a record of the consents is maintained in the privacy vault.

Abstract: A valuable media cassette comprises a cover and a valuable media storage base. The cover comprises two ink bags filled with indelible ink. Each ink bag situated on opposing sides of an inside portion of the cover and encased by a blast energy collection plate such that portions of the bag extends partially through serrated teeth of the blast energy collection plate. The blast energy collection plates harness energy associated with a blast force causing the serrated teeth to displace and puncture the ink bags when a blast occurs. The indelible ink is dispersed throughout an inside of the cassette coating the valuable media stored in the cassette with the indelible ink and rendering the valuable media unusable or damaged.

Abstract: Boot firmware of a terminal sets a lock password on a hard disk drive of the terminal to lock the hard disk drive from access. The password is obfuscated in boot variables or stored separately on a server independently of the terminal. During subsequent boots of the terminal, the firmware de-obfuscates the password from the boot variables or obtains the password from the server and provides the password to the hard disk drive, which causes the hard disk drive to unlock for operation with the terminal following the subsequent boots.
