Abstract:
An endoscope that integrates the functions of an optical tower into a portable device, while eliminating the use of cords or cables that carry light, video signals or images, and power to the endoscope that may conflict with the movement of a surgeon and the members of the surgical team, or other operators in non-medical related applications is provided. The endoscope incorporates a camera, an image processor, a light source, a transmitter, a communication interface, a control interface, and one or more of a power source in a single portable unit or enclosure. The camera is in electrical communication with the image processor and supplies images and video to the image processor obtained via an elongated endoscope tube. The light source illuminates a viewing field of the endoscope via the elongated tube.
Abstract:
A hair treatment composition comprising: i) a polyacrylate cross polymer; and ii) an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive comprising: a) an acrylic group having a side-chain with at least 4 carbons (eg n-butyl acrylate or 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) and; b) a short side-chain acrylic such as methyl acrylate.
Abstract:
A method of straightening hair comprising the steps of applying to the hair on at least two successive occasions a composition comprising a titanium complex selected from the group consisting of citrate, oxalate and tartrate or the metal alkali salt of these. The complex is preferably titanium citrate or sodium titanium citrate. The composition may further comprise a silicone.
Abstract:
A quantum cryptographic protocol is proposed, which uses two-mode coherent states and an M-ary modulation format determined in part by an expanded secret key. The encrypted signal is optically amplifiable, resulting in a polarization independent system that is compatible with the existing WDM communications infrastructure.
Abstract:
A wireline communications circuit using transceivers compatible with a wireless communications protocol is disclosed using access points and stations in an adaptive Time Division Multiple Access scheme for a multi-channel medium with colocated transceivers. Methods of operating an access point and a station, their implementations as chips and the implementation of a chip for either the access point or station are further disclosed.
Abstract:
A hair non-permanent styling composition comprising: i) an oligosaccharide comprising 3 to 7 sugar units in which the linkage group between the sugar units is an α1-4 link; and ii) at least one further ingredient selected from the group consisting of a suitable carrier, a styling polymer or a surfactant.
Abstract:
A method and system for achieving the cryptographic objectives of data encryption and/or key expansion/generation by utilizing a short, shared, secret seed key between two parties that is extended to a long extended key which, in turn, is used to select one of many possible quantum and/or classical signal sets. The signal strength of each signal in the signal set is adjusted in accordance with the number of signal sets to obtain the necessary security level. The system operates with whatever signal quantum noise and other system noises are present while preserving security of the cryptographic system. The signal quantum noise and system noises protect both the data and the key from attackers.
Abstract:
This invention particularly relates to novel pyridylmethylsulfinyl benzimidazole represented by the general formula (I), its tautomers, its derivatives, its analogs, its stereoisomers, its polymorphs, its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, its pharmaceutically acceptable solvates and pharmaceutical compositions containing them and the use thereof. ##STR1## The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the above said novel pyridylmethylsulfinyl benzimidazoles and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
