In response to an input from the user via the GUI, the package installer downloads a package associated with the identified utility tool from the remote server for local installation.

    摘要: A method and system for inducing a planned or controlled avalanche is disclosed. The system includes one or more sources of vibration mounted within a mass which is mounted within an aperture in the ground in the area where an avalanche has been determined to be likely to occur. One or more sensors is mounted between the source of vibration and the avalanche area (spaced from the vibration source), then the vibration source is operated at different frequencies to determine which frequency transmits the greatest force through the intervening terrain. Based on the analysis of the forces sensed at a distance from the vibration source, the best frequency for operation of the vibration source is determined and that frequency is used. Periodically, the process of testing the frequency versus force can be reviewed and the operating frequency adjusted. The present method and system envisions a plurality of vibrational sources arranged in a spaced array and uses more than one vibrational source to trigger a single avalanche at a desired time.

    摘要: Fasteners, such as rivets (60), are fed to a fastener insertion tool (1) via a buffer magazine (5) adjacent to the tool. The buffer is movable with the tool and C-frame (6) between an operative position where fasteners can be inserted into a workpiece and a re-filling position where it is docked at a docking station (13) to reload. Fasteners are delivered to the docking station from a source (14) and held there ready for when the tool docks. Once docked a transfer gate (25, 28) is opened at an interface between the buffer magazine and the docking station and fasteners from the docking station are transferred into the buffer magazine. The quantity of fasteners in the buffer magazine is detected and the last fastener is retained so as to support preceding fasteners loaded into the buffer magazine. Any subsequently loaded fasteners back to the docking station either under gravity, under the influence of a pressurized gas or both. The gate is then closed and the insertion apparatus separates from the docking station.

    摘要: Techniques for determining battery statistics using a system-wide daemon are described herein. According to one embodiment, a power management daemon is configured to collect operating status data of a battery of a data processing system by accessing at least one of firmware and hardware coupled to the battery. The power management daemon is a single system-wide component within the data processing system to provide the operating status data of the battery to multiple clients. The power management daemon is also configured to compute battery statistics based on the collected operating status data of the battery. In response to a query received from one of the clients via an application programming interface (API), the power management daemon is configured to return the battery statistics to the client to enable the client to determine remaining time of the battery until being recharged. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.
