    Abstract: A dispensing container capable of changing the ratio between the amounts of two kinds of contents to be dispensed, includes two container bodies, two pumps including two stems, an adjusting member configured to press the stems and to be rotatable about an axis extending in a substantially vertical direction, and a pressing head configured to, in response to a depressing operation, rotate about an axis extending in a substantially horizontal direction, to thereby depress the stems via the adjusting member. The adjusting member includes a plurality of pressing portions against which the stems are pressed, and when the adjusting member is rotated about the axis, a depressing stroke of the one of the plurality of pressing portions on the side of one of the stems becomes shorter, and a depressing stroke of the other one of the plurality of pressing portions on the side of the other stem becomes longer.

A skin spot evaluation apparatus includes an area extracting unit that extracts skin spot areas corresponding to skin spots from a skin image obtained by photographing a skin of a subject; and an evaluation unit that analyzes, based on the skin spot areas extracted by the area extracting unit, at least one of the number of the skin spots, dimension of each of the skin spots and density of each of the skin spots, and generates data obtained by quantifying characteristic of the skin spots of the skin image using the analyzed result.

    Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide a retinol-containing oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic that has excellent emulsion stability while stably retaining retinol, that also has a good fitting sensation when applied, and that has a watery and fresh feeling in use. The present invention pertains to an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic containing (a) retinol; (b) an alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer; and (c) an oil, wherein a blended amount of the (c) oil is 10% to 40% by mass relative to a total amount of the cosmetic, and the (c) oil contains at least 50% by mass of an ester oil relative to a total amount of the oil.

    Abstract: A sunscreen cosmetic having an excellent storage stability, while having a high UV protection effect without stickiness, using a liquid UV absorbent with not-so-high UV absorbance per weight concentration as a main UV absorbent will be provided.
    A sunscreen cosmetic comprising: (a) 5 to 15% by mass of a salicylic acid-based liquid UV absorbent; (b) 0.5 to 3% by mass of an alkyl silicone wax having a melting point of 60° C. or higher; and (c) a low-viscosity silicone oil, wherein a value obtained by dividing the total of contents of ingredients (b) and (c) by the content of liquid oils ({(b)+(c)}/content of liquid oils) is 0.2 to 0.6.
