    摘要: A scheme for detecting a symbol timing (synchronization) of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system in which a transmitting end inserts a Cyclic Prefix (CP) and/or a Cyclic Suffix (CS) in an OFDM symbol for transmission, and a receiving end uses a new timing metric to detect a timing (synchronization) of the OFDM symbol based on a maximum value of the timing metric, whereby when applying the method for detecting the symbol timing of the OFDM system according to the present invention, the symbol timing can be obtained more precisely, to thusly enable stabilizing of performances of the OFDM system.

Preferably, the method comprises receiving a downlink data frame comprising a data map information element and a data burst comprising a plurality of layers, wherein each layer is encoded with a corresponding channel encoder, and wherein the data map information element is configured to support multiple antennas to achieve space time transmit diversity by providing control information associated with each one of the plurality of layers, wherein the control information comprises allocation of acknowledgement status channels corresponding to the plurality of layers, and transmitting in an uplink data frame a plurality of acknowledgement status, each acknowledgement status being associated with whether a corresponding layer of the plurality of layers is properly decoded.

More specifically, a mobile station (MS) receives a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) which includes a Medium Access Channel (MAC) header from a base station (BS). Thereafter, the MS determines from the received MAC header whether an extended subheader group appears after the MAC header, and also identifies a feedback request extended subheader from the extended subheader group. Lastly, the MS transmits the feedback information according to the feedback request extended subheader.

    摘要: A method of retransmitting packet data in a wireless communication system comprises receiving a link map information element from a transmitting station having three antennas to achieve space time transmit diversity, wherein first, second and third packet data are transmitted from first, second and third antenna of the transmitting station, respectively. The method also comprises transmitting a non-acknowledgement signal to the transmitting station if at least one packet data from the transmitting station is not properly decoded. The method also comprises receiving the packet data from the transmitting station, wherein at least two or retransmitted packet data are transmitted from different antennas of the transmitting station, and one of retransmitted packet data is transmitted from the same antenna of the transmitting station. The retransmitted packet data are received with an information element comprising a retransmission count associated with a number of retransmission made by the transmitting station.

The packet retransmission method includes the steps of: a) receiving a signal corresponding to a specific packet, and independently transmitting a signal via the at least two antennas corresponding to the received signal; b) receiving a NACK signal associated with the packet; and c) independently applying an STTD to a real part and an imaginary part of each signal transmitted at step (a), and transmitting the STTD-resultant signal. Therefore, the method separates a real part and an imaginary part from each other, obtains a STTD gain, and can efficiently transmit a packet.
