摘要: A system may include an access point (AP), user equipment (UE), and a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). The RIS may include an array of elements coupled to adjustable devices controlled to cause the array to reflect signals in different directions. The RIS may be controlled in a first mode in which the AP controls the adjustable devices, a second mode in which the UE controls the adjustable devices, and a third mode in which the RIS controls the adjustable devices. The RIS, AP, or UE may determine which mode to place the RIS in based on a downlink signal transmitted by the AP, an uplink signal transmitted by the UE, measurements of the signals performed on the RIS, a first distance or round trip time between the AP and the RIS, and/or a second distance or round trip time between the UE and the RIS.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a capability report that includes an indication of a maximum number of reference signal resources within a transmission time interval (TTI) for which the UE supports channel state information (CSI) reporting. The maximum number of reference signal resources may be based on a capability for supporting joint CSI reporting for both a downlink and an uplink. The UE may receive, from the base station, a report configuration in response to the capability report. Subsequently, the base station may transmit reference signals to the UE, which the UE may use to determine CSI for both the downlink and the uplink. The UE may then transmit, to the base station, a CSI report including the CSI for both the downlink and the uplink, in accordance with the report configuration.

摘要: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to measure a downlink quality associated with at least one first beam. The WTRU may be configured to determine whether the measured downlink quality associated with the at least one first beam is below a threshold value. The WTRU may be configured to receive at least one control channel transmission using a determined second beam, based on, in part, a determination that the measured downlink quality associated with the at least one first beam is below the threshold value. The determined second beam used to receive the at least one control channel transmission may be a same beam that is used to receive an associated data channel transmission. The determined second beam may be from a set of beams. The set of beams may be received via higher layer signaling.

摘要: A method and system are provided for scheduling data transmission in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. The MIMO system may comprise at least one MIMO transmitter and at least one MIMO receiver. Feedback from one or more receivers may be used by a transmitter to improve quality, capacity, and scheduling in MIMO communication systems. The method may include generating or receiving information pertaining to a MIMO channel metric and information pertaining to a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) in respect of a transmitted signal; and sending a next transmission to a receiver using a MIMO mode selected in accordance with the information pertaining to the MIMO channel metric, and an adaptive coding and modulation selected in accordance with the information pertaining to the CQI.

The UE may transmit a capability report that may include an antenna pointing capability, a list of one or more detailed capabilities, or both to another device, such as a network entity (e.g., a satellite). The UE may perform the beam switching operation based on the capability report. The UE may perform a random access procedure as part of a change of association operation. The UE may receive a control message from the other device, which may be the network entity, that includes an identity of a target network entity, one or more resources for the random access procedure, an indication of the beam switching duration, or any combination.

摘要: Apparatus, systems, and methods to implement enhanced sounding reference signaling for uplink (UL) beam tracking in communication systems are described. In one example, an apparatus of an evolved Node B (eNB) comprising processing circuit to broadcast system information about one or more sets of uplink transmit time intervals and bandwidths available for a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission from a first user equipment (UE), configure one or more UE-specific SRS processes for the first UE for uplink beam tracking, and configure one or more millimeter wave access points (mmW APs) to transmit a mmW signal to the first UE and receive a mmW signal from the first UE. Other examples are also disclosed and claimed.
