Abstract:
An image forming device providing a document image reading mode, image recording mode, copying mode, recording sheet feeding mode, and recording sheet discharge mode. When interruption of feeding of a document or a recording sheet is detected by a sensor, the current driving force transmission path is switched and set to another driving force transmission path corresponding to an operation mode different from the current operation mode at which the interruption occurs.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a first detector for detecting if conveyed work that has passed or is passing a specific position is or is not present at a first position; a calculator for calculating a distance traveled by the conveyed work based on the specific position; and an evaluator that determines the conveyed work was removed if the first detector does not detect the conveyed work when the conveyed work is determined to be present at the first position based on the calculated traveled distance.
Abstract:
An image formation device (facsimile machine, printer, copier, etc.) is provided, which is capable of reducing the amount of ink ribbon rolled up for the removal of slack of the ribbon. When a ribbon roll-up process is started, the operation mode of the image formation device is first set to a ribbon roll-up mode in which a ribbon roll-up spool is driven without driving a platen. The slack of the ribbon is removed by driving the ribbon roll-up spool to roll up the ribbon without driving the platen, which can reduce the amount of ribbon rolled up for the removal of the slack (the amount of ribbon wasted).
Abstract:
A structure is provided for arranging power cables in an electronic apparatus. The cable arrangement structure includes a first control board, a transformer mounted on the first control board, a second control board spaced from the first control board, a connector mounted on the second control board in facing relation to the transformer, and a plurality of power cables extending from the connector, the plurality of power cables including at least one power supply cable and at least one power return cable. The plurality of power cables are bundled together at an intermediate portion.
Abstract:
Provided is a valve housing configured to be inserted into an insertion hole that extends in a direction approximately orthogonal to an extending direction of an oil path and configured to be freely movable along an extending direction of the insertion hole. When an oil jet switching valve is closed, the tip end portion of the valve housing is configured to be pressed to the inner wall surface of the oil path by receiving an energized force from an energizing unit.
Abstract:
A cylinder head (1) includes a water jacket (4) formed around an ignition plug mounting hole (5). Upper surfaces (12 to 14) of portions of the water jacket (4) between intake ports (7) and the ignition plug mounting hole (5) and between exhaust ports (8) and the ignition plug mounting hole (5) are set to be lower than upper surfaces (15 to 17) of the remaining portions of the water jacket (4) around the ignition plug mounting hole (5) to increase the rigidity. Thereby, deformation of the cylinder head (1) due to cylinder internal pressure is limited, and the stress concentration around the ignition plug mounting hole (5) due to such deformation is reduced.

Abstract:
In a multicylinder internal combustion engine including a turbocharger, the turbocharger employs a twin-entry turbo where a turbine includes two exhaust gas inflow ports. A first exhaust passage guides an exhaust gas discharged from a first cylinder group of the internal combustion engine to one exhaust gas inflow port of the turbocharger. A second exhaust passage guides an exhaust gas discharged from a second cylinder group of the internal combustion engine to the other exhaust gas inflow port of the turbocharger. An exhaust gas collecting portion of the first exhaust passage and an exhaust gas collecting portion of the second exhaust passage each include an air-fuel ratio sensor. This configuration allows efficiently contact of the exhaust gas on an element portion of the air-fuel ratio sensor, thus accurately detecting an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas at an upstream side of a catalyst for each cylinder.
Abstract:
A sheet feeder includes a sheet tray configured to support one or more sheets stacked thereon in a slanted state, a feed roller disposed to face a lower end of a top one of the sheets stacked on the sheet tray, the feed roller being configured to feed the sheets, a supporter disposed under the sheet tray movably relative to the feed roller, the supporter being configured to support, on an upper surface thereof, lower ends of the sheets stacked on the sheet tray, and a displacement mechanism configured to displace the supporter farther from the feed roller depending on a pressure which the feed roller applies to the sheets when rotating.
Abstract:
An image reading device capable of correctly reading an image on a document is provided without the need to increase the size of an upper cover, etc. of the device. A CIS (Contact Image Sensor) is supported by holders and support shafts to be movable toward the upper cover (rib) and is biased toward the rib by compression springs. In this configuration, the rib for holding the document is not required to be installed as a movable component and there is no need to provide a space for allowing the rib to move or providing the upper cover with a mechanism for allowing the rib to move, which can avoid the need to increase the size of the upper cover.
