Abstract: The disclosure relates to suppressing surface waves in a communication device for a wireless communication system. The communication device includes a dielectric layer extending along a plane between a chassis and a glass layer, an antenna element configured to emit a radio wave, and a retroreflective structure extending inside the dielectric layer and being located adjacent to the antenna element, and where the retroreflective structure is configured to reflect the radio wave in an angle non-parallel to the plane. The retroreflective structure hence prevents parasitic channeling of the antenna energy into surface waves in and behind the glass layer and directs the radiation into the desired direction.

Abstract: A communication device for wireless communication includes a housing having a front dielectric cover, a back dielectric cover, a metal frame circumferentially arranged between the front dielectric cover and the back dielectric cover, and an aperture. The metal frame forms a first antenna that is configured to radiate in a first set of frequency bands. The communication device further includes a circuit arranged inside the housing. The circuit is electrically isolated from the metal frame and includes at least one first feed line coupled to the metal frame and configured to feed the first antenna with a first set of radio frequency signals in the first set of frequency bands. The communication device further includes a second antenna arranged inside the housing and configured to radiate in a second frequency band non-overlapping with the first frequency band.

Abstract: A millimeter-wave (mmWave) assembly (1) comprising a first mmWave module (2), a second mmWave module (3), and a connector (4) configured to releasably interconnect the first mmWave module (2) and the second mmWave module (3). The connector (4) comprises a first connector element (5) associated with the first mmWave module (2). The first mmWave module (2) comprises a first substrate (7) and an mmWave radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) (8), and the second mmWave module (3) comprises a second substrate (9) and an mmWave antenna array (10). The connector (4) is configured to transmit at least one signal between the mmWave RFIC (8) and the mmWave antenna array (10) when the first mmWave module (2) and the second mmWave module (3) are interconnected.

Abstract: An antenna system for a mobile device includes a first electrically conductive member having a plurality of segments including at least a first corner segment and a central segment that is disposed adjacent to the first corner segment. A dielectric material is disposed in a gap between the first corner segment and the central segment. A second electrically conductive member is disposed within the mobile device. A first end of the second electrically conductive member is connected to the first corner segment. A portion of the second electrically conductive member away from the first end is electrically connected to a first feeding portion. The central segment is connected to a second feeding portion.
