Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a polyolefin, peroxide and a sulphur containing antioxidant, wherein said peroxide is present in an amount which corresponds to X mmol —O—O—/kg polymer composition and said sulphur containing antioxidant is present in an amount which corresponds to Y mmol —OH/kg polymer composition, wherein Y1≤Y≤Y2, X≤45 and 0.9*Y+m≤X≤n−k*Y, wherein Y1 is 0.50 and Y2 is 10, and m is 0.8, n is 70 and k is 4.7; and wherein said polymer composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) of less than 1.7, and said polymer composition comprises less than 0.05% by weight (wt %) 2,4-Diphenyl-4-methyl-1-pentene; a crosslinked polymer composition, and use thereof, a power cable insulation, a power cable, useful in high voltage (HV DC) and extra high voltage (EHV DC) direct current applications, and a method for reducing electrical conductivity of a crosslinked polymer composition.

Abstract: The invention relates to a foamable ethylene polymer composition comprising at least one antioxidant, at least one process aid and at least 80 wt % of a peroxide-treated ethylene polymer composition. The foamable ethylene polymer composition has melt strength of at least 2 cN, a density of 940 to 970 kg/m3, and dissipation factor measured at 1.9 GHz of 50-80−10−6. The invention further relates to a process for making such a foamable ethylene polymer composition, and use of the foamable ethylene polymer composition in a foamed cable insulation.

Abstract: A cable having one or more conductors surrounded by at least an inner semiconductive layer, an insulation layer and an outer semiconductive layer, in that order. The insulation layer has at least 90 wt % of a polymer composition, said polymer composition having 80.0 to 99.9 wt % of an LDPE homopolymer or copolymer; and 0.1 to 20.0 wt % of: an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene having a Mw of at least 1,000,000; or a single site catalysed medium density polyethylene (MDPE) having a density of 925 to 940 kg/m3 or a single site catalysed linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) having a density of 910 to 925 kg/m3.
