摘要： The present invention relates to a packet reception method. In a packet reception method applied to a mobile communication system, in which data transmission is performed by repeating at least two interlaces by a predetermined cycle, the present invention includes the steps of receiving a broadcast/multicast packet from a base station, receiving a broadcast overhead message including information of a reference multiplex burst length and information about multiplexes, each having a burst length different from the reference multiplex burst length, and decoding the received broadcast/multicast packet using the information included in the broadcast overhead message. Accordingly, the present invention can efficiently transmit the broadcast overhead message required for the packet data decoding.

摘要： A method of allocating a mobile station unique number and method of configuring a public long code mask (PLCM) using the same ar disclosed, which are suitable for a normal operation between the mobile station and the system. The present invention includes the steps of re-allocating a manufacturer code of the mobile station unique number to a mobile station and transmitting to the mobile station re-allocation type (RECYCLED_TYPE) information indicating how many times the re-allocating step is carried out. Accordingly, the present invention enables allocation of additional ESN without collision with PLCM even if ESN is exhausted.

The present invention includes the steps of comparing sectors in an active set to set values corresponding to the soft or softer handoff for the sectors, respectively in a base station, transmitting a first parameter for selecting cell switching parameters between the sectors neighboring each other in the active set to a mobile station wherein the set values for the respective sectors are included in the first parameter, generating values of a parameter PDCH_GROUP_IDENTIFIER corresponding to a packet data channel group identifier using the set values included in the first parameter, determining whether a serving sector and a target sector among the sectors are in the soft or softer handoff using the generated values of the parameter PDCH_GROUP_IDENTIFIER, and selecting the cell switching parameters accordingly.

摘要： A fast call setup system and method for a mobile communications device is provided. A mobile terminal monitors a paging channel on a first predetermined cycle, the paging channel comprising a plurality of slots for monitoring. After a traffic channel is disconnected upon receiving a release order, the network provides reduced slot cycle parameters to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal uses these parameters to monitor the paging channel using a reduced slot cycle. Upon the expiration of an operational timer or through an intervention of either the network or the mobile terminal, the reduced slot cycle is terminated and a normal slot cycle is reinstated.
