    摘要： A method of allocating a mobile station unique number and method of configuring a public long code mask (PLCM) using the same are disclosed, which are suitable for a normal operation between the mobile station and the system. The present invention includes the steps of re-allocating a manufacturer code of the mobile station unique number to a mobile station and transmitting to the mobile station re-allocation type (RECYCLED_TYPE) information indicating how many times the re-allocating step is carried out. Accordingly, the present invention enables allocation of additional ESN without collision with PLCM even if ESN is exhausted.

In a packet reception method applied to a mobile communication system, in which data transmission is performed by repeating at least two interlaces by a predetermined cycle, the present invention includes the steps of receiving a broadcast/multicast packet from a base station, receiving a broadcast overhead message including information of a reference multiplex burst length and information about multiplexes, each having a burst length different from the reference multiplex burst length, and decoding the received broadcast/multicast packet using the information included in the broadcast overhead message. Accordingly, the present invention can efficiently transmit the broadcast overhead message required for the packet data decoding.

    摘要： A method of establishing connection between a first mobile station (MS) and a second MS in a mobile communication system is disclosed. More specifically, the method includes transmitting to at least one base station (BS) a service message which includes information of at least one service type supported by the first MS and the second MS. Here the at least one service type relates to a multimedia service supported by each of the first MS and the second MS. Furthermore, the method includes transmitting a request message which includes information of at least one service type selected by the first MS, receiving a response message which includes information of the selected service type which is supported by both the first MS and a second MS, and transmitting a connection complete message between the first MS and the second MS for communication using the selected service type.
