The enclosure comprises: a surface; a speaker grill located in the surface, the grill having an opening therein providing an air channel to the speaker; and at least one structure located in a first region in the surface and protruding from the surface. The enclosure is shaped such that when the enclosure is placed on a flat surface with the surface facing the flat surface, the structure causes the surface to be canted from the flat surface to expose the speaker grill to ambient air.

The coupler has a microphone having a port that is mounted on the printed circuit board and the port is aligned with the opening in the printed circuit board.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a case for a handheld electronic device and an electronic device. The case comprises: a housing and a lens. The housing has a housing surface; and a first opening in the housing surface. The lens has a cover surface being disposed adjacent at least a portion of the housing surface; an indentation formed in the cover adjacent the cover surface, the indentation being disposed between and forming a cavity in the case between at least a portion of the housing adjacent the housing surface and at least a portion of the cover adjacent the cover surface, the cavity being elongated along at least a first axis; and a second first opening formed in the cover providing fluid communication between the cavity and the cover surface. In the case, an audio transducer for the electronic device is disposable in the housing at a location underneath the first opening, placing the audio transducer in fluid communication with the cavity; and when the lens is disposed on the housing surface a periphery about the indentation is sealed against an opposing portion of the housing surface.

The second cover covers the second region and is shaped to allow ambient air to pass around the second cover to the at least one hole.

    摘要: An improved handheld electronic device has a case with an elongated cavity formed therein. An audio transducer is in fluid communication with the cavity, and a number of sound openings are formed in the case and are in fluid communication with the cavity and with the atmosphere surrounding the handheld electronic device. The sound openings are generally spaced from a central region of the audio transducer to space the sound openings generally farther from an edge of the case than the audio transducer. The cavity is configured to form a Helmholtz resonator that enables the communication of sound through the cavity between the audio transducer and the sound openings. The spacing of the sound openings from an edge of a case helps a user to form a seal between the case and the user's ear to enable sound from the sound openings to enter the ear and to be perceived by the user. In one embodiment, the sound openings face into a channel formed in the case, which enables the sound openings to be largely hidden from view and enable the sound openings to be spaced an even greater distance from the audio transducer.
