    Abstract: A connection assembly for an antenna includes a printed circuit board and a coaxial cable connected to the printed circuit board. A transmission trace and a solder pad are provided on the printed circuit board. An opening for receiving an end portion of the coaxial cable is also provided in the printed circuit board, and an exposed outer conductor of the end portion extends into the opening, and an exposed inner conductor reaches the solder pad. The connection assembly further includes a ground structure, which is electrically connected to a ground metal layer on a second surface of the printed circuit board, and the ground structure is at least partially arranged on both sides of the exposed inner conductor and/or the exposed outer conductor.

    Abstract: A multi-band radiating array includes a reflector, a plurality of first radiating elements defining a first column on the reflector, a plurality of second radiating elements defining a second column on the reflector alongside the first column, and a plurality of third radiating elements defining a third column on the reflector between the first and second columns. The first radiating elements have a first operating frequency range, the second radiating elements have a second operating frequency range that is wider than the first operating frequency range, and the third radiating elements have a third operating frequency range that is lower than the second operating frequency range. Related radiating elements are also discussed.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a base station antenna, comprising: a plurality of first radiating elements that are arranged as a first vertically-extending array; a plurality of second radiating elements that are arranged as a second vertically-extending array, where the second radiating elements are staggered in the vertical direction with respect to the first radiating elements; wherein phase centers in an azimuth plane for first sub-arrays of the first radiating elements are substantially the same as phase centers in the azimuth plane for respective third sub-arrays of the second radiating elements, and wherein the first sub-arrays each have a first number of first radiating elements and the third sub-arrays each have a second number of second radiating elements, the first number being different than the second number. This can effectively improve the pattern of the base station antenna.

    Abstract: Multi-band antennas utilize compact multi-band dipole-type radiating elements having multiple arms, including a front facing arm and a rear facing arm that respectively target higher and lower frequency bands. These higher and lower frequency bands may include, but are not limited to, a relatively wide band (e.g., 1695-2690 MHz) associated with the front facing arm and somewhat narrower and nonoverlapping band (e.g., 1427-1518 MHz) associated with the rear facing arm. The front facing arm may extend on a “front” layer of a multi-layer printed circuit board and the rear facing arm may extend at least partially on a “rear” layer of the printed circuit board. A resonant LC (or CLC) network is provided, which is integrated into the rear facing arm and at least capacitively coupled to the front facing arm. This resonant network advantageously supports low-pass filtering from the front facing arm to the rear facing arm, to thereby support the multiple and nonoverlapping bands.
