Abstract:
A method for outputting local content on a mobile device includes determining a current location of a mobile device and retrieving content via a wireless connection based on the location of the mobile device. In addition, the method includes outputting the retrieved content on the mobile device. In another embodiment, a system includes a processor, a computer usable medium, the computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, which when executed by the processor causes the processor to: determine a location of a mobile device, retrieve content via a wireless connection based on the location of the mobile device, and output the retrieved content on the mobile device. Additional systems and methods are provided as well.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a computer program product comprises a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having computer program code embodied therewith, where the computer program code is readable and/or executable by a first recording device to cause the first recording device to receive, at the first recording device, a request to record a contiguous television program, store the contiguous television program on the first recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a user request to transfer data from the first recording device to a second recording device, receive, at the first recording device, a selection of the contiguous television program for transfer from the first recording device to the second recording device, and send to the second recording device from the first recording device the contiguous television program stored on the first recording device.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a system comprises a first mobile device comprising a processor; and a computer usable medium, where the computer usable medium has computer usable program code embodied therewith, which when executed by the processor causes the processor to send a request for a location of a closest person to the first mobile device, determine a first location of the first mobile device, receive, in response to the request, a plurality of potential matches, where each of the potential matches includes a name and location of a person, receive a selection of one of the plurality of potential matches, obtain location coordinates of the selected potential match, establish a link with a global positioning service (GPS) system, transmit geographical data to the GPS system, wherein the geographical data includes the location coordinates of the selected potential match, and output a geographic solution on the first mobile device, wherein the geographic solution includes: a calculated route between the first location of the first mobile device and the location coordinates of the selected potential match, and information associated with the calculated route, the information including one or more of an estimated travel time, an average travelling speed, and an elapsed travel time.
