摘要： A ground clamp having a clamping strap formed of a corrosive-resisting material with a series of uniformly sized and spaced apertures to facilitate the installation of the clamping strap and clamp onto a wide range of pipe, rod or conduit diameters. A tightening stud, through which the clamping strap is secured about the object to be grounded, includes a terminal portion having a slot therein to receive and have secured thereto one or more terminated ground wires. A pair of curved plates are adjustably positionable along the stud to form a tight clamping action of the clamping strap about the object to be grounded without subjecting the strap to localized stresses or damage. An abrading sleeve is carried by the clamping strap, and positioned thereon to engage the outer surface of the pipe, rod or conduit to be grounded. As the tightening stud tightens the clamping strap about the object to be grounded, a plurality of abrading points, formed on the abrasive sleeve, engage the object to be grounded to cut or scrape through the outer surface thereof as the clamping strap is tightened to ensure a proper electrical contact between the grounding clamp and the object to be grounded.

摘要： An electrical connection is provided for connecting electrically transmitting cables and/or wires to one another or any other component in a manner that provides an environmentally sealed connection. The electrical connection includes an electrical connector for connecting electrical cables or wires that includes seals which are disposed in grooves in the threaded portions of the electrical connector. The electrical connector may also include a second set of grooves separated from the first set of grooves, in order to cause moisture and other debris to migrate away from the seals. When the end connectors of electrical cables or wires are connected to the electrical connector, the interior threads of end connectors cover and deform the surface of the seals to create an enhanced seal between the connector and the end connectors. Thus, the electrical connector effectively seals the interface between the connector and the end connectors of electrical cables or wires, such that moisture and other debris are prevented and/or substantially deterred from migrating into the interior of the cable or wire.

摘要： A compression-type drop wire clamp that avoids damaging a signal carrying portion of a cable by applying a compressive force primarily to a support portion of a cable is disclosed herein. A plurality of holes may be included in a compression portion of the clamp to increase the frictional force between the cable and the clamp. An abrasive coating, such as an enamel and crushed glass mixture, may be added to the clamp to increase the frictional force between the cable and the clamp. Tines or other aligning mechanisms may also be used to center the cable in the clamp and/or to align other portions of the clamp (e.g. a shim).

摘要： A universal ground strap assembly including a strap having a series of uniformly sized and spaced apertures to facilitate the installation of the ground strap assembly onto a wide range of structures of various shaped and sized cross-sections is provided. A stud, through which the strap is secured, includes a terminal portion adapted to accommodate and have secured therein a ground wire. The stud includes a curved surface to engage the elongated strap with smooth transition. The stud may be captivated on the strap by at least one projection extending into the hole in the strap within which the stud is held. A curved sliding nut supported upon the strap and a curved surface of the stud are used to form a tight clamping action of the strap about the structure to be grounded, without subjecting the strap to localized stresses or tearing, but permitting the strap to tightly encircle the structure. The curved sliding nut is also captivated on the strap with stops and defines a hole to receive the stud. The strap may also include an abrading surface to penetrate the outer surface layer of the structure.

In a disclosed example, a ground strap assembly includes a bendable ground strap, and a grounding clip having at least one flange located to substantially prevent rotation of the clip relative to the bendable strap. The example ground strap assembly also includes a fastener securing the grounding clip to the bendable strap. It is not necessary to remove the fastener from the bendable ground strap to secure the ground strap assembly to an electrically conductive member.

摘要： A dual purpose jack (20) connectable to a printed circuit board is capable of accepting an audio plug and a power plug. The audio plug (50) has a projecting pin containing a series of spaced annular external contacts connectable to an audio signal. The projecting pin includes a hollow insulated sleeve which mates with a metal pin (120) of the jack to insulate the audio plug from the power portion of the jack. The power plug (40) includes a projecting pin (42) which is hollow and mates with the metal pin (120) of the jack to form the power contact. The combination jack has various leaf springs which move into engagement with the projecting pins of the two plugs and which are aligned in different planes in order to assist in miniaturization of the jack.

摘要： A clamping bracket connects an electrical wire to a lip of a grounded utility box so as to ground the wire. The bracket has U-shaped portions and a threaded stud which advances an annular abrading end surface with a center cone point into engagement with the lip when located between the U-shaped portions. The rear planar member of the U-shape is formed by a leaf spring which slants inwardly. The front planar member of the U-shape has side ribs which strengths the front planar member and space a threaded bore from the lip.
