    摘要: An ink cartridge for reserving an ink in an inner space defined therein, including: (a) an ink supplying portion provided to face a lower portion of the inner space so as to allow supply of the ink from the inner space therethrough; (b) an air introducing portion provided to face the lower portion of the inner space so as to allow introduction of an air into the inner space therethrough; (c) at least one electrode receiver for receiving first and second electrodes, such that the first and second electrodes face the inner space; and (d) a bubble-path-formation restrainer restraining an electrical path allowing a continuity between the first and second electrodes, from being formed of a bubble which is generated as a result of the introduction of the air into the inner space. Also disclosed is an inkjet recording apparatus including the above-described ink cartridge and a detector which detects an electrical characteristic between the first and second electrodes.

    摘要: An ink jet head is provided with a passage unit and an actuator unit. The passage unit comprises a nozzle and a pressure chamber communicating with the nozzle. The actuator unit comprises a piezoelectric layer, a first electrode connected with a front surface of the piezoelectric layer, a second electrode connected with a back surface of the piezoelectric layer, a first insulating layer located between the second electrode and the passage unit, and a first conductive member. The first insulating layer comprises a first through hole. At least a part of the first conductive member is located in the first through hole. The passage unit comprises a concave portion located at a position facing the first through hole, and a protruding portion which protrudes from an inner surface of the concave portion. One end of the first conductive member is electrically connected with the second electrode. The other end of the first conductive member makes contact with the protruding portion.

    摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus having a main body, a recording head, and an ink cartridge. The ink cartridge includes: (a-1) an ink reservoir having a spout portion; and (a-2) a case which has a case wall spaced apart from a reservoir wall of the ink reservoir, with a space being formed between the case wall and the reservoir wall. The case has a case opening such that the space is open to an exterior of the case through the case opening. The main body includes: (b-1) a contact member having a recess formed in its contact surface, and held in contact at the contact surface with of the case wall such that the recess is opposed to the case opening and the spout portion; (b-2) a gas supplier for supplying a positively pressurized gas into the recess; and (b-3) an ink drawing member connected to the spout portion so that the ink can be supplied from the ink reservoir toward the recording head through the ink drawing member.

Each of the air outlet and ink inlet passages comprises a hollow needle disposed at the top plate and vertically extends, and at least one of the air outlet and ink inlet passages comprises a hollow tubular member extending downward from the top plate, whose inner space is in communication with an inner space of the corresponding needle.

The state of this cartridge may be detected by a cartridge detecting device including a projecting member insertable into the passage through the opening as the cartridge is moved for installation, the projecting member being movable in the direction of movement of the cartridge, a first detector operable by the cartridge when the cartridge is moved for installation, a second detector operable by the projecting member, depending upon whether the non-reversibly changing member is placed in the first or second state, during the movement of the cartridge, and a determining portion operable to determine the state of the cartridge on the basis of outputs of the first and second detectors.

    摘要: A liquid discharging head includes a channel unit formed of a plurality of stacked plates having openings and a liquid channel formed of the openings of the stacked plates. A curing material is filled in a step formed due to shift of the openings provided in the adjacent plates respectively, and the curing material forms part of an inner surface of the liquid channel. Consequently, the channel inner surface becomes smooth, and a liquid discharging head with little residual bubbles and with excellent bubble discharging capability is provided. Further, the attenuation of a pressure wave due to the step can be prevented.
