摘要: A roller for transporting sheet-like material is manufactured by forming a cylindrical resin layer on the periphery of a preheated aluminum pipe, cutting the aluminum pipe covered with the resin layer to a desired size, and joining coaxially oriented shaft end members to both ends of the cut aluminum pipe. The resin layer can be covered on the periphery of the aluminum pipe by use of an extrusion molding machine. A contoured surface on the pipe or an adhesive can help the resin adhere to the pipe. The roller thus manufactured has high stiffness, roundness, less runout and good dimensional stability over a wide temperature range. The weight of the roller is light and maintenance of a rack which is installed with the rollers by the user is easy.

摘要: Stimulable phosphor sheets are circulated through an image recording section for recording radiation images on the stimulable phosphor sheets, an image read-out section for scanning the stimulable phosphor sheets by stimulating rays and detecting light emitted thereby upon stimulation, and an erasing section for releasing radiation energy remaining in the stimulable phosphor sheets after image read-out. The level of residual radiation energy in each stimulable phosphor sheet ejected from the erasing section is detected and compared with a predetermined value. When a stimulable phosphor sheet detected to exhibit a residual radiation energy level exceeding the predetermined value is fed to the image recording section, the stimulable phosphor sheet is passed through the image recording section without being subjected to image recording.

摘要: A method of and an apparatus for recording and reading out radiation image information. The apparatus includes a circulatory feed system for feeding stimulable phosphor sheets each capable of recording radiation image information along a predetermined circulatory feed path, an image recording unit for exposing the stimulable phosphor sheets to a radiation through an object to record the radiation image information of the object on the stimulable phosphor sheets, an image readout unit having a stimulating light source for emitting stimulating light to scan the stimulable phosphor sheets with the radiation image information recorded thereon and a photoelectric readout device for detecting light emitted from the stimulable phosphor sheets scanned by the stimulating ligth to produce image signals, and an image erase unit for discharging remaining radiation energy from the stimulable phosphor sheets after the images have been read therefrom by the image readout unit and before new radiation images are recorded on the stimulable phosphor sheets by the image recording unit. Prior to successive recording of images on the stimulable phosphor sheets, any remaining images and dust are erased from the sheets, and the sheets are checked for defects or scratches thereon. Any sheet bearing such a defect is controlled to skip image recording, readout, and erasing steps. The frequency of erasing the remaining image on a stimulable sheet in the erasing step is controlled dependent on the amount of the radiation to which the object is exposed.

摘要: A method of measuring an after-glow of a stimulable phosphor sheet comprises the step of detecting an instantaneous light emission after-glow emanated by the stimulable phosphor sheet carrying a radiation image stored thereon by use of a photodetector when the stimulable phosphor sheet is being conveyed toward a system for final read-out after preliminary read-out is finished, thereby measuring the level of the after-glow. A method of adjusting radiation image read-out conditions comprises the steps of creating a histogram of preliminary read-out image signals obtained by preliminary read-out, detecting the instantaneous light emission after-glow by a photodetector, obtaining a signal Sx representing the level of the instantaneous light emission after-glow, and adjusting final read-out conditions and/or image processing conditions based on a value calculated by subtracting the value of the signal Sx from a characteristic value of the preliminary read-out image signals in the histogram.

摘要: A cassette for erasing remnant radiation images on a stimulable phosphor sheet without the necessity of taking out the sheet includes a casing for accommodating the stimulable phosphor sheet and a cover pivotally mounted to the casing so as to be opened or closed. The cassette also includes a light reflecting member for reflecting or diffusing the light introduced from outside the cassette for irradiation on an image recording region of the sheet, or a light transmitting member for transmitting the light introduced from outside the cassette or the light from an inner light source, or a light emitting device mounted at least in register wiht the image recording area of the stimulable phosphor sheet contained in the cassette. An erasure device for a stimulable phosphor sheet employing the cassette is adapted to erase radiation energies stored in the sheet by irradiating the sheet with an erasure light, and includes a housing, a device provided in the housing for opening the cassette placed at a predetermined position within the housing and accommodating the stimulable phosphor sheet to be erased, and a light source device provided in the housing and adapted for irradiating the erasure light on the stimulable phosphor sheet within the cassette in the opened state. The arrangement is suitably applied to cases wherein the stimulable phosphor sheet is stored without being used for prolonged time, in which cases the sheet may be employed directly since the secondary erasure directly before usage of the sheet is not required.

摘要: A stimulable phosphor is exposed to a radiation passing through an object to have a radiation image stored therein, and then exposed to stimulating rays to read out the radiation image and obtain an electric image signal. The image signal is processed under conditions suitable for the type of image recording and used to reproduce a visible image. The conditions of exposure to the radiation and the image processing conditions are adjusted by a single action of selecting the setting conditions predetermined according to the type of image recording. Also, read-out of an identification code provided on the stimulable phosphor and the exposure of the radiation are started by a single action. Or, the read-out of the identification code is conducted in response to memorizing of information on the object.
