Abstract: A method implemented by a device includes determining a direction of a first signal received from a signal source, beamforming a second signal in accordance with a first beamforming gain of a transmission of the second signal oriented in accordance with the direction of the first signal source, and a second beamforming gain of the transmission of the second signal oriented in accordance with an intended direction of the second signal, the first beamforming gain being smaller than the second beamforming gain, and transmitting, by the device, the beamformed second signal.

A data packet in the communications system may also be transmitted first in a first frequency higher than a second frequency, and then be retransmitted in the second frequency upon transmission failure of the data packet in the first frequency.
