摘要： In step S1, the capacity of the area (remaining quantity) of a disk in which information can be recorded is read, and the remaining quantity is displayed in step S2. After a user inputs the recording time of information to be recorded and the recording capacity w for the recording, an average transmission rate R.sub.1 is calculated from expression R.sub.1 =w/t-.alpha. in step S4. The rate .alpha. is the transmission rate for transmitting signals other than a video signal, such as an audio signal, attached to the video signal. Data obtained by applying a DCT treatment to the video data is quantized with a quantization width corresponding to the average transmission rate R.sub.1 and this data is intermittently recorded on the disk.

Each of the tracks is formed having a length to accommodate a pair of audio portions and a center video portion provided between the pair of audio portions. Rotational angles of the rotary magnetic heads corresponding to the length of the audio portions and the center video portion are expressed as follows,.THETA.a+.THETA.v=.THETA.b+.THETA.v=180.degree.where .THETA.a and .THETA.b correspond to the audio portions and .THETA.v corresponds to the center video portion, respectively. In the case of audio after recording, selected audio portions are left blank during the initial recording operation and the after recording audio signal is recorded therein at a later time.

摘要： A magnet roll assembly for use in an apparatus developing an electrostatic latent image has a permanent magnet member providing a plurality of circumferentially spaced magnetic poles and a non-magnetic sleeve surrounding the permanent magnet member, the non-magnetic sleeve having a roughened surface region terminating at both ends inward relative to both ends of the permanent magnet member, a distance which can be proportional to the pitch of the magnetic poles at the sleeve surface whereby a magnetic developer layer of substantially uniform height is formed along the length of the sleeve surface. The surface roughness of the roughned surface region of the sleeve lies preferably within the range of from 0.5 .mu.m to 3 .mu.m (Rz). The magnet roll assembly is applicable to both magnetic brush-type and jumping-type developing apparatuses.

For a current shift register, a control terminal of the second switch receives an output signal generated by previous shift register unit.
