    摘要: A blind fastener, producing a large blind side bulb, and including a locking ring to hold the fastener in a secured position against stresses. A collapsible barrel segment is disposed on the blind side between the end of the body portion and the head of the pull stem to effect the expansion of the body portion on the blind side. The barrel resists collapsing under loads sufficient to expand and flare the body portion of the fastener to produce the desired large bulb but collapses upon satisfactory flaring having been accomplished. The collapsible barrel, being collapsible along an angle, makes the fastener particularly well-adapted for fastening non-parallel surfaces.

The sleeve further includes a weakened interior region disposed between the taper and the first end of the sleeve, the weakened interior region being adapted to bulb outwardly when the sleeve is compressed against a workpiece.

    摘要: Disclosed is a clamp that includes a bolt, a spacer, a shank, an expander and a blocking means. The bolt includes a non-threaded undercut that permits the bolt to rotate in an internally threaded portion of the spacer without threaded engagement between the bolt and the spacer. When used as a clamp, the spacer, shank, expander and blocking means cooperate to deform the expander into a blind side flange and to clamp a work piece between the flange and the spacer. To remove the clamp, the bolt is moved away from the spacer while rotating the bolt in the expander to bring the external threads of the expander into threaded engagement with the internal threads of the spacer. This permits the extraction of the bolt from the blind side expander by maintaining rotational restraint of the expander with the spacer. In several embodiments, a compression spring is positioned between the head of the bolt and the spacer to automatically move the bolt when it is rotated in a loosening direction.

    摘要: The invention relates to a portable on-line fluid contamination monitor. An inlet and an outlet are provided for connecting the monitor to a fluid control circuit and a measuring device is included for withdrawing fluid from the circuit. An optical sensor assembly is used to view fluid withdrawn from the circuit and to determine the level of contamination by observation of the particles therein, the optical sensor assembly viewing the fluid through a window by means of a light source disposed to project light through the window and the fluid. A light sensor disposed on the opposite side of the window from the light source is arranged to detect particles in the fluid passing across the window by sensing the degree of light obscuration caused by particles in the fluid.

    摘要: A blind fastener designed to secure workpieces having aligned holes therein is provided. The fastener comprises an elongated stem having a head at one end and a serrated tail at the other, and a tubular sleeve having a head through which tail of the stem extends and a tail which is engaged by the head of the stem. The stem further includes a shear ring for bulbing the sleeve tail and a lock ring groove for receiving a lock ring for locking the stem to the sleeve. The stem also has a shoulder which engages shoulder portion in the sleeve to cause the sleeve to expand radially outward so as to fill any clearance or gap between the sleeve and the workpieces. A reservoir located in the stem accepts excess shoulder material displaced during the hole filling process. In one embodiment, a preformed lock ring is positioned in the lock ring groove to lock the stem to the sleeve. In another embodiment, a lock ring is formed from material in the sleeve head.
