    Abstract: A sheet finishing apparatus includes a conveying member configured to convey recording media and a tray configured to receive the recording media conveyed by the conveying member. The tray includes a holding member configured to hold the recording media therein and to contact a first edge of the recording media such that the recording media is positioned, a rotatable moving member configured to contact the recording media such that the holding member abuts against the recording media, a discharging member configured to discharge the recording media stacked by the holding member, and a protruding member mounted on the discharging member and configured to contact a second edge of the recording media such that the recording media is positioned. One of the rotatable moving member and the protruding member positions the recording media stacked in the tray in a travel direction of the recording medium.

    Abstract: A transfer sheet comprises a support, and a transfer layer separable from the support and receivable an ink, wherein the transfer layer contains a hot-melt adhesive particle. The hot-melt adhesive particle in the transfer sheet comprises a particle having a melting point of more than 80° C. (A) and a particle having a melting point of not more than 80° C. (B), and the particle (A) comprises a hot-melt adhesive particle having an oil absorption of not less than 50 ml/100 g (A1) and a hot-melt adhesive particle having an oil absorption of less than 50 ml/100 g (A2). Further, the transfer layer may comprise a film-formable resin component and a dye fixing agent. The transfer sheet is excellent in stability on delivery of a sheet, so prevents the inside of the printer from staining, and excels in ink-absorption to a degree that the stain transfer does not occur.

    Abstract: A bookbinding device receives a sheet on which an image is formed from an image forming apparatus. In the bookbinding device, a punching unit performs a punching process on a sheet; an aligning unit aligns a plurality of sheets on which holes are punched; and a ring binding unit mounts, in the holes of the sheets aligned by the aligning unit, a ring-shaped binding tool to create a booklet. A prohibiting unit, if a sheet received from the image forming apparatus is a punched sheet having a hole thereon, causes the punching unit not to perform the punching process on the punched sheet.

    Abstract: A punching processing unit punches holes in a paper bundle delivered from a preprocessing device. A bookbinding unit includes a cartridge for stocking a plurality of rings, and performs a ring binding by binding the paper bundle with the rings. A detecting unit detects an abnormality of a ring in the cartridge. A control unit exchanges a signal with the preprocessing unit each time when detection information obtained by the detecting unit changes. When any one of the rings is determined as abnormal and an execution of ring binding is set, the control unit inhibits the ring binding.

    Abstract: Proposed are a highly reliable information detecting apparatus and an information detecting method.
