Abstract:
Pigment dispersed aqueous ink jet ink compositions suitable for printing on plain paper. The ink comprises water as the principal solvent, a pigment and a pigment dispersant. The pigment dispersant is a derivative of a polyuronic acid in which a hydrophobic polymer is covalently attached to the reducing terminus of the polyuronic acid. The polyuronic acid is composed primarily of 1,4-linked polygalacturonic acid, polyguluronic acid, polyiduronic acid, or mixed polymers thereof.
Abstract:
A cyan ink comprising a phthalocyanine derivative represented by the following formula (I), excellent in color reproducibility, suitable for use in the ink jet recording method is disclosed. The combination use of this cyan ink comprising the phthalocyanine derivative with yellow and magenta inks, each comprising a specific dye, gives excellent color printing. ##STR1## wherein X represents an ion of a metal selected from Cu, Fe, Co and Ni, R.sup.1 represents H or an alyl group, Z represents --O, --COOH or NR.sup.2 R.sup.3 (where R.sup.2 represents H or an alkyl group, and R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group or phenyl group), n represents an integer of 1 to 15, k and l represent 0 or 1, and m represents an integer of 1 to 4, provided that k, l and m fulfill the inequality 2.ltoreq.k+1+m.ltoreq.4.
Abstract:
An ink-jet printing ink composition which has high printing stability after long periods of time and at high temperatures is provided. The ink-jet printing ink composition is an aqueous ink having a nitrite ion concentration between about 0.2 to 10 parts per million (ppm) in order to lower the concentration of dissolved gas in the ink.
Abstract:
An aqueous fluid ink particularly well suited for use in an ink jet printer is provided. The aqueous fluid ink compositions include a humectant in combination with urea for efficiently lowering the freezing point without a significant increase in viscosity. Aqueous fluid ink compositions prepared in accordance with the invention include at least one humectant selected from the group consisting of aliphatic polyhydric alcohols, alkyl ether derivatives of the aliphatic polyhydric alcohols and acetate ester derivatives of the aliphatic polyhydric alcohols, urea, a water-soluble dye and water. Viscosity is maintained between about 2 and 3 centipoises at 20.degree. C. and a quick drying ink is provided by adjusting the pH to between about 12 and 13.5.
Abstract:
A cleaning sheet comprises a sheet-shaped base and an adhesive layer formed on at least one surface of the sheet-shaped base member. The adhesive layer has an adhesive strength in the range of 0.1-0.5 gf according to a 180-degree peel-off method provided by JIS Z-0237. Or the adhesive layer has a tackiness degree in the range of 1-5 according to a J DOW method provided by JIS Z-0237.
Abstract:
A yellow ink composition and a magenta ink composition are provided which have good properties satisfying requirements for a color ink jet recording ink, particularly a requirement that the color ink composition is less likely to cause clogging of nozzles, and can realize a printed image having excellent tone, waterfastness, storage stability, and lightfastness. Further, a color ink set comprising the above ink compositions in combination with a particular cyan ink composition and a particular black ink composition are also provided. A yellow ink composition comprising a dye represented by the following formula (XI) in combination with a dye represented by the following formula (XII) is a fundamental color ink composition: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.101 and R.sup.102 represent phenyl or naphthyl substituted by a hydroxyl group, --SO.sub.3 M, or --COOM.
Abstract:
An ink jet recording method which can simply realize a plurality of resolutions in a single printer without varying the amount of ink per droplet is disclosed. An ink jet recording method comprises the steps of: selecting a recording medium; changing an image resolution depending on the selected recording medium; and ejecting ink droplets onto the recording medium to form ink dots thereon, wherein the amount of ink of the droplet is constant when the resolution is changed, and wherein the image resolution is changed so that ink penetrability or ink repellency of the recording medium makes the diameters of the ink dots on the recording medium fall in the range of from 100 to 160% of diagonal dot pitch of the resolution.
Abstract:
An ink jet recording film is provided which has well-balanced properties required of the ink jet recording film. The ink jet recording film comprises a transparent substrate, an anchor coat layer laminated on one side of the substrate, and an ink-receptive layer laminated on the anchor coat layer; wherein the ink-receptive layer comprises a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 80 to 95% and a degree of polymerization of 1,000 to 2,000.
Abstract:
An object is to provide a recorded article or sticker whereby counterfeited articles and genuine articles can be visually distinguished in simple fashion in the market and wherein it is not possible to identify in the market the location and type of the anti-counterfeiting measures that have been taken. Both an overt region 3 (which can be recognized visually in the market) are printing using a color-change ink or liquid-crystal ink, for example, and a covert region 5 formed by for example optical retro-reflective printing (which cannot be recognized without using a special tool) are provided on the surface of the same recording medium. The overt region 3 and the covert region 4 may be arranged at different locations or may overlap, or may be positionally aligned. The overt letter/design pattern and the covert letter/design pattern may be the same or different. An overt recording that is printed using liquid-crystal ink may also function as a covert recording by employing a genuineness inspection method using a circularly polarized plate. A sticker may be provided with one or a plurality of cuts such that the sticker is broken when peeled off, so that it cannot be re-used.
