摘要： A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may communicate using a data flow that is defined according to flow identification information (FII). The WTRU may participate in the transfer of the data flow between access networks of diverse radio access technologies. The WTRU may communicate with a mobility function to obtain access network and mobility policy information. The mobility function may be, for example, an Access Network Discovery Function (ANDSF). The mobility policy information may describe the conditions by which the transfer of data flows between access networks may be permitted.

摘要： The method and apparatus are provided for local call routing for a home Node-B (HNB) and a home evolved Node-B (H(e)NB) using a local authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) server and a local private branch exchange (PBX) server without assistance from the core network. A H(e)NB including a receiver for receiving a call setup request that includes an identity (ID) of a target wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), and a processor for determining whether the call setup request can be routed locally by comparing the ID of the target WTRU with a list of current members of the closed subscriber group (CSG), and on a condition that the determination is positive, forwarding the call set up request to a local private branch exchange (PBX) server, is described.

摘要： A method and system for reporting short message (SM) capability over an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) using a session initiation protocol (SIP) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) registers with a core network and sends a message indicating its SM capability via the IMS to the core network. The core network then updates the WTRU capabilities based on the message and routes an SM to the WTRU via the IMS.

Alternatively, the GERAN access procedure uses RAN mobility information messages exchanged by the WTRU and the target base station controller and a relocation detect message by the source evolved Node B.

摘要： Apparatus and method for providing an automatic handoff process of a dual-mode user equipment (UE) from either a wireless local area network (WLAN) to a universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) or from a UMTS to a WLAN. Handoffs may be initiated by the UE, based upon user preference, signal quality, comparison of location coordinates of the UE and the system to be switched to or signal quality. The available channels of one system may be sent to the UE by the other system or the UE may monitor channels of the system to be switched to and lock on to one. The handoff may also be initiated by the UMTS, the selection being power-based.
