    摘要: A plasma generation system and related method for generating plasma in a cavity of a narrow tube, the system including: a first electrode including a conductive member covered with an insulator or dielectric, the first electrode being inserted into the cavity of the narrow tube to generate the plasma; a power supply to apply an alternating voltage or pulse voltage to the first electrode; and a second electrode located outside the narrow tube and connected to the power supply, the power supply applying the alternating voltage or pulse voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein the conductive member is made of a wire, a portion of the narrow tube is provided between the first electrode and the second electrode, and the second electrode is arranged and shaped so that a discharge is unevenly performed in a circumferential direction of the first electrode.

    摘要: An optical apparatus is disclosed which can well maintain a surface contact state between a vibrator and a contact member of a vibration type linear actuator to perform a stable lens drive. The optical apparatus comprises a vibration type linear actuator driving a lens in an optical axis direction. The vibration type linear actuator includes a vibrator on which vibration is produced through an electromechanical energy conversion action and a contact member which is in press contact with the vibrator. The apparatus comprises a holding mechanism which holds one member of the vibrator and the contact member so as to change at least one of the position and inclination of the one member in response to a force smaller than a press contact force between the vibrator and the contact member.

The apparatus comprises a second linear actuator which includes a third member to which an electrical signal is input and a fourth member whose length in the optical axis direction is longer than the third member, and drives a second lens in a second movable range in the optical axis direction. The first member is moved together with the first lens in the optical axis direction, with respect to the second member.

    摘要: A rare earth-element/cobalt type magnetic powder which possesses outstanding magnetic properties and which is useful for making a resin magnet is produced by a method which comprises thermally reducing a mixture consisting of oxide of samarium, oxide of praseodymium, optionally oxide of neodymium, and cobalt powder, thereby causing diffusion of consequently produced samarium, praseodymium, and/or neodymium in the cobalt powder, subjecting the resultant reaction product to a heat-treatment involving standing at 600.degree. to 900.degree. C. for 30 minutes to 5 hours and subsequent quenching from this temperature at a rate of not less than 10.degree. C./minute, adding the product of the heat-treatment to water, thereby converting the product into a slurry, treating the slurry with water and an aqueous acid solution, and comminuting the resulting powder into particles of an average diameter of 3 to 10 .mu.m thereby obtaining a magnetic powder having a composition represented by Sm.sub.1-x Pr.sub.x Co.sub.z or Sm.sub.1-x Pr.sub.x-y Nd.sub.y Co.sub.z (wherein x, y, and z satisfy the relations 0.05.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.40, 0.01.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.0.39, 0.01.ltoreq.x-y.ltoreq.0.39 and 4.7.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.5.3).
