    摘要: A computer system in an embodiment comprises a storage apparatus, a host computer, and a copy control program. The storage apparatus performs copy operations of volumes allocated to a guest OS of the host computer. The copy control program obtains volume information of the guest OS from a VM control program at a given time. The control program compares the information with previous volume information of the guest OS and performs volume copy control for the guest OS in accordance with the comparison result. This process achieve appropriate copy operations even if the association relationship between the guest OS and volumes is changed during system operation.

    摘要: This invention relates to data backup and data recovery in a computer system. An outputting unit updates data stored in a first area based on an update request of data from the host computer, a creating unit stores update data for the update request in a second area, a marker processing unit creates a marker containing information of the range, in which the data is stored, and information indicating whether or not the data is allowed to be stored in a third area based on a request of creating the marker from the host computer to store the created marker in the second area, and a reflecting unit refers to the marker, obtains the update data corresponding to the data storing range, which is stored prior to the marker, and reflects the obtained update data to the third area.

    摘要: In a system for storing data as a backup purpose to a separate storage apparatus, data of a copy source is matched with data of a copy destination in a predetermined time. A host computer attaches an identifier to a write request and then transmits the resulting write request to another storage apparatus for every segment of business. The host computer calculates an amount of data which can be copied (backup) within a given time for every identifier, and then, issues a backup instruction to the storage apparatus.

    摘要: A virtual machine system is constructed between a plurality of real machines of a multiprocessor system. In order to move a virtual machine operating in a virtual machine system on a given real machine to a virtual machine system on another real machine, each virtual machine system is managed by attaching a common logic name to the real machine resources. The origin of the virtual machine (VM) is notified of the logic name of the real resource corresponding to the VM configuration information. The destination VM includes a device for generating an identical VM configuration according to the logic name received thereby to realize the movement of the VM configuration. Also, the origin VM holds a new asynchronous operation request for the VM to be moved, and suspends the operation of the VM. The VM resource information and the asynchronous operation hold information are transferred to the destination. The destination VM restarts the VM operation in accordance with the received information.
