Abstract:
One object of the invention is a method for improving the performances of a mobile radiocommunication system using a power control algorithm, said power control algorithm including an inner-loop power control algorithm for adjusting a transmit power according to received power control commands, said method including: a step of deciding if the transmit power should be increased according to a received power control command (TPC(k)) requiring a power increase, having regard to a cumulative power variation (Δsum(k)) already obtained for last received power control commands, a step of determining a cumulative power variation (Δsum(k)) to be used by said step of deciding, said step of determining including taking into account, further to power adjustments due to said inner-loop power control algorithm, at least one other factor that may affect said cumulative power variation.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the present invention provides a method of managing processing resources in a mobile radio system, in which a “first” entity manages radio resources and corresponding processing resources, the processing resources being provided in a distinct, “second” entity, in which method: the second entity signals to the first entity a resource model representative of its processing capacity, based on spreading factor and on data rate; and the first entity manages said processing resources, on the basis of the signaled resource model, as a function of spreading factor and of data rate for the allocated radio resources.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is a method for setting a power offset for power control of a downlink shared channel in a mobile radiocommunication system, a method wherein said power offset is dynamically adapted, as a function of radio environment conditions, in a way as to minimise the transmit power of said downlink shared channel, while still achieving the quality of service.
Abstract:
A receiver for a CDMA mobile radiocommunication system, receiving a signal which is a superposition of different signals, or path signals, corresponding to different propagation paths of a transmitted signal, which in turn is a superposition of different signals, or channel signals, corresponding to different channels carrying different transmitted informations, said receiver comprising, prior to the recovering of the transmitted information carried by a given channel, by exploiting said different propagation paths: means (6, 9) for estimating at least one received channel signal, or interferer signal, which is a superposition of different path signals corresponding to different propagation paths of a transmitted channel signal corresponding to at least one channel different of said given channel, means (10) for substracting said at least one estimated interferer signal, from said received signal.
Abstract:
A method for setting a transmission quality target value for power control in a mobile radiocommunication system, a method wherein: an offset is applied in an anticipated way to said transmission quality target value to compensate for the effects of a compressed mode whereby transmission is interrupted during transmission gaps in compressed frames, and the transmission rate is correspondingly increased to compensate for said transmission gaps, said offset includes a first component intended to compensate for the effects of said transmission rate increase, and a second component intended to compensate for the effects of said transmission gaps, said transmission rate increase applies not only for a compressed frame but for a plurality of frames including said compressed frame, and said second component is not applied for all frames of said plurality of frames, but only for said compressed frame and/or for at least one frame, or recovery frame, following said compressed frame.
Abstract:
A method for improving performances of a mobile radiocommunication system using a power control algorithm for controlling a transmit power according to a transmission quality target value. Upon the occurrence of a significant change in the required transmit power, the power control algorithm is bypassed by changing the transmit power according to a corresponding change in the required transmission quality target value.
