Abstract: A rotary sliding vane fluid pump having an open rotor and radially extended arms forming slots that support the radially extending vanes. The relative position of the vanes and the inlet and discharge ports provide sealing by the vanes to the pump housing whereas the surface of the rotor does not seal to the pump housing so that radial rotor clearance is not critical. The rotor can be manufactured and assembled at lower cost. The rotor shape uses a minimum of material so that it is lower in weight and gives good pressure loading of the vanes. The open rotor is without closed voids to allow quick draining of the pump.

Abstract: A suspension system for the operator compartment of a mine vehicle suitable for working in underground mines having low head room. A pair of vertically extending guide tracks are rigidly secured to a frame member of the mine vehicle. Each of the track members has associated with it a roller bracket constructed so that all moving contact between the roller bracket and the guide track which guides it is a rolling contact. Each roller bracket includes a projecting stud member of substantial construction which passes through an opening in the rear wall of the operator compartment, the two stud members providing the only points of support for the operator compartment. The operator compartment normally rests on and slides over the floor of the mine and by this arrangement is free to move vertically up and down as the elevation of the mine floor changes or when the bottom of the operator compartment encounters obstacles or debris on the mine floor. One of the openings in the rear wall of the operator compartment is elongated to permit either end of the compartment to move in an arcuate path with respect to the other end so that the compartment may tilt from end to end as required and to prevent binding and sticking of the roller brackets as they move vertically on the guide tracks. Stop means and shock absorbing means are provided to limit movement of the roller brackets in the guide tracks and to cushion the shock transmitted to the operator when the roller brackets impact the stop means.

Abstract: The present invention is an ergonomic safety work mat which includes a modular ergonomic wooden platform with a synthetic tapered marginal border. The purpose of this invention is to provide occupational workers with a therapeutic, forgiving work surface to protect them from the health risks of working, walking and standing on a concrete floor or common anti-fatigue mat used in many factories today. The wooden platform is raised off the floor to offer suspension, thus promoting a spring effect for absorbing and returning compression force resulting in reduced stress loads and compression force for people who work, walk or stand fort extended periods of time. This product is modular in design so that the tapered borders of separate modular sections connect for a snug fit. The vertical edges of the wood sections also have connection points that provide a leveling effect and further enhance the fit of the module sections.

Abstract: A work mat on which a worker stands while operating a machine for comfort and for the purpose of easing of physical stress caused by standing on a non-compressible floor during a work day. The work mat includes a wooden platform with a peripheral synthetic border which tapers from the floor up to the top edge of the wooden platform. In addition, the synthetic border extends inward about one half inch under the peripheral edge of the wooden platform, thereby elevating the wooden platform above the floor. The wooden platform is therefore suspended over the floor and can flex up and down as a user walks on or stands on the mat, thereby absorbing some of the shock of walking and moving on the floor. The compressibility of the wooden platform adds to the comfort of the work mat as well.
