Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A distributed unit (DU) may output to a radio unit (RU), a data waveform and an initial resource allocation for the data waveform. The RU may generate and transmit to the DU a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) for the data waveform and a peak power value for a transmission time interval (TTI). Based on the PAPR and the peak power value, the DU generate and forward to the RU a multiplexed signal. The multiplexed signal may include the data waveform associated with a first resource allocation and comprising a multi-tone energy waveform associated with a second resource allocation. In some examples, the multi-tone energy waveform may be used for power harvesting operations at one or more ambient wireless devices. The RU may transmit the multiplexed signal to one or more wireless devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a network device to transfer energy to an energy harvesting (EH)-capable device via a multisine waveform. The network device may transmit the multisine waveform according to a multisine waveform configuration that indicates frequency locations for each EH channel of the multisine waveform across a channel bandwidth. In some cases, the network device may determine the multisine waveform configuration according to latency information of the passive IoT device, channel quality measurements for the channel bandwidth, or both. The multisine waveform configuration may indicate a distribution of individual EH channels across the channel bandwidth to improve frequency diversity, may indicate a contiguous grouping of EH channels to improve multisine gain, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a delta-frequency associated with a dual-tone downlink transmission from a network entity, the delta-frequency defining a frequency difference between two tones used for the dual-tone downlink transmission. The UE may receive the dual-tone downlink transmission from the network entity according to the two tones. The UE may decode the dual-tone downlink transmission based at least in part on the delta-frequency.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network node may transmit a set of reference signals via a corresponding set of antennas, each antenna in the corresponding set of antennas associated with a unique precoding vector, wherein each precoding vector uses a combinational codeword based on a combination of codewords from a set of available codewords. The network node may receive, from an energy harvesting (EH)-capable device, a set of frequency-shifted backscatter responses corresponding to at least a subset of the set of reference signals. The network node may transmit, to the EH-capable device, a signal based on channel state information, wherein the channel state information is based on the set of frequency-shifted backscatter responses.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive first configuration information indicating a first guard interval associated with sidelink communications. The UE may transmit, to a base station and another UE, a first sidelink communication using the first guard interval. The UE may transmit, to the base station and using a second guard interval having a second length that is different from a first length of the first guard interval, an uplink communication. Numerous other aspects are described.
