    摘要: Angle estimation for modulated signal. A novel compensation technique is presented by which angle estimation may be performed for a modulated signal. More specifically, the angle between a constellation corresponding to a received signal and a constellation corresponding to a received signal may be very efficiently estimated using any one of the possible embodiments corresponding to various aspects of the invention. After this angle has been estimated, the received signal or the expected constellation may be rotated (or de-rotated) to compensate for this angular difference. In doing so, better estimates of the information bits that are demodulated and decoded from the received signal may be made. This approach may be implemented and adapted to any of a wide variety of communication systems including, but not limited to, single-input-multiple-output (SISO), single-input-multiple-output (SIMO), multiple-input-single-output (MISO), multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO), and even space-time block code (STBC) communication systems or other communication systems.

The baseband processing module convert outbound data into a plurality of outbound symbol streams, wherein each of the plurality of outbound symbol streams is outputted as one or more frames, wherein a frame of the one or more frames includes a setup portion and a data portion, wherein the set up portion includes at least one of a training sequence field and a signal field, and wherein the set up portion is formatted in accordance with one of a plurality of protocols. The baseband processing module further converts a plurality of inbound symbol streams into inbound data. The transmitter section converts the plurality of the outbound symbol streams into a plurality of outbound RF signals. The receiver section converts a plurality of inbound RF signals into the plurality of inbound symbol streams.

Aspects of the method may comprise replicating at least one component of a legacy preamble synchronization symbol to generate a plurality of replicated components of a legacy preamble synchronization symbol. A portion of the generated plurality of replicated components of a legacy preamble synchronization symbol may be grouped and scaled to at least one wide-bandwidth synchronization symbol. A wide-bandwidth preamble may be generated utilizing the wide-bandwidth synchronization symbol. The replicated component of the legacy preamble synchronization symbol may comprise a time domain component and/or a frequency domain component. The time domain component may comprise at least one modulated symbol and the frequency domain component may comprise at least one tone. The grouped generated plurality of replicated components of a legacy preamble synchronization symbol may be scaled with a scaling mask to generate the wide-bandwidth synchronization symbol.

    摘要: A method for generating a preamble of a frame for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication begins by, for each transmit antenna, generating a carrier detect field. The method continues by, for a first grouping of the transmit antennas, generating a first guard interval, and at least one channel sounding field. Continuing, the method applies cyclical shift prior to transmission via the first grouping of the transmit antennas. When the MIMO wireless communication includes more than the first grouping of the transmit antennas, for another grouping of the transmit antennas. For the another grouping of the transmit antennas, generating at least one other channel sounding field. The method proceeds by generating the first guard interval prior to the at least one other channel sounding field, and applying another cyclical shift prior to transmission via the another grouping of the transmit antennas.
