摘要： A system and method are provided for more effectively utilizing modems in a WiMAX environment, so as to improve network connectivity while providing access for both fixed as well as portable computing devices. The apparatus connects one or more computing devices to a network-based information system through at least a first WiMAX modem that is located within the apparatus. A second WiMAX modem can be removably coupled to the apparatus so as to improve network connectivity and operability. In the event, the second WiMAX modem is removed and coupled to a portable computing device, network connectivity provided by the first WiMAX modem is maintained.

A system is provided that includes a number of home agents configured to provide network services to mobile nodes. The system is configured in such a way that at least one of the mobile nodes may be served by more than one of the home agents. Thereby, for example, a certain mobile node may be provided voice service via one home agent and email messages via another.

摘要： Methods and systems are provided for encapsulating upper layers of CDMA signaling messages between a multi-mode device and a signaling gateway. In an exemplary embodiment, a multi-mode device has a CDMA mode and a Wi-Fi mode. In Wi-Fi mode, the device generates an upper-layer portion of a CDMA signaling message. The device then encapsulates the first upper-layer portion in at least one packet-switched-protocol, such as SIP. The device then transmits the encapsulated upper-layer portion of the CDMA signaling message via a Wi-Fi network and a packet-switched network to a signaling gateway, which then translates the upper-layer portion into an SS7 message, and transmits the SS7 message over an SS7 network.

摘要： A method and system for reporting changes in personal information management (PIM) data. A user operating a client station subscribes to a presence server to be notified when a change in another user's PIM data occurs. The presence server responsively subscribes to a PIM host. When the designated change occurs, the PIM host notifies the presence server. The presence server then correlates the notification with the user's subscription and responsively notifies the user of the change.

An enhanced proxy server receives a signaling message and proxies the message to an application server. Similarly, a registration server may receive a signaling message from a communicating entity and may responsively make data available for use by an application server in responding to signaling messages regarding the communicating entity.

摘要： The present invention provides systems and methods for notifying mobile devices of the presence of software and/or firmware updates using Mobile-IP extensions. When a mobile device seeks to engage in a Mobile-IP session, it sends a Mobile-IP registration request message. When it receives a reply to the registration request, the reply includes a Mobile-IP extension that indicates whether an update is available for the mobile device. If the extension indicates that an update is available, the mobile device responsively obtains the update.

The calling device transmits a call request for an emergency call to the call processing system. The call request includes a caller identification that identifies a caller. The customer information system has a plurality of context information stored in association with a plurality of caller identifications. The customer information system receives the first signaling for the call, processes the caller identification to determine a context information from the plurality of context information associated with the caller identification, and stores the key in association with the context information.

The method includes transferring an authentication key for delivery to a service node, obtaining the geographic location of the wireless communication device, and authenticating the geographic location to create authenticated location information for the wireless communication device. The method also includes wirelessly transferring the authenticated location information to the wireless communication device, wirelessly receiving the authenticated location information from the wireless communication device for delivery to the service node, and transferring the authenticated location information for delivery to the service node, wherein the service node processes authenticated location information and the authentication key to identify the geographic location of the wireless communication device.
