    摘要: An electronic device and method are disclosed for effecting both nerve fiber and body tissue stimulation. Nerve fiber stimulation is primarily effected by application of pulses, and preferably by application of biphasic pulse pairs the pulses of which are spaced from one another in a pattern such that nerve fiber stimulation applied through plural active electrodes enhances pain suppression. Body tissue treatment is primarily effected by application of a net DC charge, and preferably by application of biphasic pulses that includes a greater number of either negative or positive pulses so that a net DC charge results. The DC charge level is maintained at a substantially constant selected value regardless of pulse variations within established broad limits, and the DC charge level is adjustable between operational modes, as needed.

    摘要: A method of preparing tetraketone precursors which are useful in the production of high temperature resistant polyquinoxaline resins. Suitable diketones are oxidized with a halogenating agent, such as cupric halide or hydrogen bromide, and dimethylsulfoxide to produce the corresponding tetraketone. The tetraketones which can be produced by the instant process have the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or an aryl, substituted aryl, heterocyclic or substituted heterocyclic radical and R' is an aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, arylether, arylthioether, arylsulfoxide, arylsulfone, heterocyclic or substituted heterocyclic radical.

    摘要: The disclosed compositions and methods for producing composite materials that are suitably adapted for use in elevated temperature environments generally include the use of oxyarylbisorthodinitrile matrix resins in conjunction with aromatic amines to produce an improved phthalonitrile-based composite. Various features and specifications may be controlled, adapted or otherwise optionally modified to improve the temperature-rated performance of the disclosed composite materials. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention generally provide composite materials that offer improved strength at temperatures in excess of 600° F.
