摘要： A sheet processing apparatus for binding a sheet bundle by a binding member having a curved shape, including: a support portion configured to support, as a sheet bundle, a plurality of sheets having punch holes formed therein; an adjustment portion configured to adjust a position of each of punch holes formed in the sheet bundle so that a locus of centers of the punch holes continuing in a thickness direction of the sheet bundle supported by the support portion is aligned with the curved shape of the binding member; and an attaching portion configured to attach the binding member to the punch holes of the sheet bundle in which the position of each of the plurality of sheets is adjusted by the adjustment portion.

摘要： A sheet processing apparatus which has a flattening processing unit which presses a folded end of a folded booklet bundle to flatten the folded end, and cutting units which cut and align edges of the booklet bundle, wherein the edges crossing the folded end of the booklet bundle are cut by the cutting unit and the folded end of the booklet is then flattened by the flattening processing unit.

摘要： An image forming apparatus is operable with a first sheet processing device and a second sheet processing device connected to the image forming apparatus via a network. The image forming apparatus includes a memory configured to store a control program for the first and second sheet processing devices; and a controller configured to exercise control so that the control program stored in the memory is transmitted to the first sheet processing device or the second sheet processing device. When the first and second sheet processing devices are of the same type, the controller transmits the control program to either the first sheet processing device or the second sheet processing device, and after completion of the transmission, the controller causes the sheet processing device to which the control program has been transmitted to transmit the control program to the other sheet processing device.

摘要： A control method for an image forming system capable of preventing reduction of the ability of the system even if a shift transportation function becomes an abnormal condition. An image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet. A first sheet process apparatus has a first moving unit receiving the sheet on which the image is formed and moving the sheet in a width direction. In a determination step, it is determined whether a second sheet process apparatus having a second moving unit moving the sheet in the width direction is connected to an upstream side of the first sheet process apparatus. In a detection step, it is detected an abnormal condition of the first moving unit. In a sheet movement step, the second moving unit moves the sheet in the width direction if an abnormal condition is detected and the second sheet process apparatus is connected.

摘要： An image forming apparatus which enables the user to easily remove a sheet bundle left in the apparatus after a bookbinding-mode job is stopped in the middle of execution thereof. In a bookbinding mode of the apparatus, in a sheet stacking section, a plurality of sheets having images formed thereon are stacked as a sheet bundle; in a gluing section, glue is applied to an end face of the sheet bundle; and in a bonding section, a cover sheet is bonded to the sheet bundle to wrap the sheet bundle in the cover sheet. When a bookbinding-mode job is canceled during execution thereof, in the gluing section, glue is applied to the sheet bundle stacked in the stacking section before the job is stopped, and a discharge section discharges the glue-applied sheet bundle which is neither wrapped nor trimmed.

摘要： An image forming apparatus that enables to execute a bookbinding process for sheet bundles without decreasing productivity. The image forming apparatus is connected to a bookbinding apparatus having a bookbinding unit that binds a book by attaching a ring to a punch hole and a buffer unit that performs a buffering process to convey sheets in piles so that sheets for a next sheet bundle are not ejected onto a sheet bundle that is being processed by the bookbinding unit. A determination unit determines whether a sheet is a type that is prohibited from buffering. A control unit adjusts an ejection order so that the sheet of the type that is prohibited from buffering is not ejected within the predetermined number of sheets from the first sheet of sheets that constitute the sheet bundle, when the determination unit determines that the sheet is the type that is prohibited from buffering.
