    摘要: A securement device (10) secures a medical article (12) to the body of a patient and prevents longitudinal movement of the medical article (12) relative to the securement device (10). The securement device (10) includes a base portion (50) that is disposed over at least a part of a securement piece (20). The securement piece (20) forms a channel (19) configured to receive at least a portion of the medical article (12). The device (10) includes at least one actuator (40). The at least one actuator (40) is coupled with the securement piece (20) and configured to move the securement piece (20) between open position and a closed position. When the securement piece (20) is in the open position, it can receive at least a portion of the medical article (12). When the securement piece (20) is in the closed position, it prevents the received medical article (12) from moving in the longitudinal direction relative to the securement device (10). In some embodiments the securement piece (20) has engagement members (23) extending from the inner surface of the securement piece (20). In an embodiment, the securement device (10) includes an opening (28) that receives an outwardly extending member of the medical article (12).

    摘要: A universal device for securing a catheter on a patient includes a base which optionally has one or more locating elements for positioning or securing a catheter or catheter fitting of various shapes or sizes. The base optionally includes a recessed or flat receiving area defined by locating elements arranged in any configuration suitable to hold or receive a catheter or catheter fitting, e.g., in a tapering or V shaped formation. Additional locating elements may be positioned elsewhere on the base for receiving or holding a flange or wing of a catheter fitting and preventing its movement in various directions. The base optionally has an angled surface to maintain the desired angle for catheters or catheter fittings in a patient. A cover is removably or permanently connected to the base and may optionally have one or more top openings for receiving tabs or extensions of a catheter fitting.

The cover may be connected to the base by a hinge which allows the cover to be lifted open or pushed down into a closed position, over a catheter fitting. The base may have locating elements configured and arranged to fit around catheter fittings of various sizes, and the locating elements prevent substantial movement of a catheter fitting and catheter in various dimensions. The cover may include capture elements which act to grip and compress the catheter fitting when the securing device is in a closed position, thus preventing substantial movement of a catheter fitting and catheter in various dimensions. The base may be attached to a patient with an adhesive pad attached to the bottom surface of the base.

    摘要: The invention relates generally to expandable medical implants for maintaining support of a body lumen and, in particular, to an axially nested, diametrically expandable, slide and lock vascular device for enlarging an occluded portion of a vessel. The axially nested vascular device desirably achieves both competitive crossing profiles while maintaining other key features, such as, for example, radial strength and luminal patency. The collapsed profile can also be made very thin without compromising radial strength. Thus, the vascular device can advantageously be deployed in small and difficult to reach areas or vessels. The axial nesting substantially eliminates radial overlap between mating structural elements thereby desirably allowing for a low, uniform profile.

    摘要: A gun barrel for firing a projectile and particularly a rail gun barrel that comprises a pair of spaced apart rails and a pair of spaced apart insulators, which separate the rails, and together define a composite bore, all disposed centrally within an outer rigid tube. A prestressed filament-wound polymeric resin shell immediately surrounds and applies compressive stress to this composite, bore-defining structure. A pressure medium, positioned between the shell and the interior surface of the outer tube, is operative to apply compressive stress to the shell at least at locations generally radially outward of the rails. The compressive stresses applied by the combination of the prestressed shell and the pressure medium are additive and effectively preload the rails and the composite bore structure to resist overall forces encountered during projectile firing which, in a rail gun, include asymmetric loads upon the rails from electromagnetic repulsion forces and also axisymmetric bursting forces.

    摘要: A sigma delta interpolator for use in a fractional N synthesizer having a multi-modulus divider for controlling the output frequency of the synthesizer. The sigma delta interpolator includes an accumulator operative for receiving an input signal representing the desired frequency output of the fractional N synthesizer and for generating a digital output signal having M bits, which include N most significant bits and n least significant bits. The N most significant bits output by the accumulator are coupled to the multi-modulus divider and are operative for controlling the operation of the multi-modulus divider. The sigma delta interpolator further includes a delay circuit coupled to the accumulator, which functions to receive the n least significant bits and implement a delay function defined by equation: 1−(1−Z−1)N, where N corresponds to the order of the sigma delta interpolator.
