摘要： A one piece cable tie for forming a plurality of objects such as cables into a bundle. The cable tie includes an elongated flexible strap having a first end, a second end, a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, a first recessed portion formed in the top planar surface, a second recessed portion formed in the bottom planar surface, a first set of ratchet-shaped teeth formed within the first recessed portion and a second set of ratchet-shaped teeth formed within the second recessed portion. The cable tie further includes a locking head integrally formed to the first end of the strap. The locking head includes a top surface and a bottom surface. The locking head also includes an inner channel wall, an outer channel wall and a pair of sidewalls which together define a strap accepting channel therebetween, the strap accepting channel having a first open end formed in the top surface of the locking head and a second open end formed in the bottom surface of the locking head. A locking pawl is pivotally connected to the inner channel wall of the locking head and a projection is fixedly connected to each sidewall of the locking head. In use, the locking pawl lockably engages at least one tooth on the strap and abuts against the projections to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the locking head when the second end of the strap is inserted into the strap accepting channel in through the first open end or when the second end of the strap is inserted into the strap accepting channel in through the second open end.

摘要： A device for dispensing plastic attachments of the type which are formed as part of a roll of continuously connected ladder stock. In one embodiment, the device includes a pair of hollow slotted needles each having a tip, a rear end and a longitudinal axis. A feed wheel, placed proximate to the rear ends of the pair of needles, is used to feed individual attachments of a roll of ladder stock into the pair of needles through their respective rear ends at angles relative to the longitudinal axes thereof. Once inserted into the needles, an attachment is severed from the remainder of the ladder stock by a knife and is then expelled from the needles by a pair of ejector rods movable along the longitudinal axes of the pair of needles. Because attachments are fed into the pair of needles at angles relative to their longitudinal axes, no shuttling of the needles between an attachment feeding position and an attachment ejecting position is required. The pair of needles, the feed wheel, the knife, and the pair of ejector rods are all mounted on a vertically movable head member. An electric motor assembly is used to move the head member between an attachment dispensing position and a withdrawal position. The vertical movement of the head member drives the operation of the feed wheel, the knife and the ejector rods.

摘要： Method and apparatus for dispensing of attachments comprising a pair of side members linked by a connector. A roll of fastener stock is fed to a reciprocatively driven slide head assembly at which the roll is advanced over an elastomeric feed belt to a pair of needles secured to a shuttle. Once inserted in the needles, an individual attachment is severed from the stock, and displaced over a preset distance by the shuttle into the path of a pair of ejector rods. The ejector rods force the side members of the attachment out of the needles for insertion in a fabric or other workpiece at the bottom of the head stroke. On return stroke of the head, the needles are withdrawn, ejector rods retreat, and the shuttle returns to its severing position in a manner to avoid mechanical interference. This design uses an electric motor driven fastener dispensing head, actuator slide and associated linkages for actuating the various mechanisms either on an on-demand or continuous basis. Reliability is improved by severing the attachment stock in the needle, and transferring the severed attachment to its insertion location.

A pair of spiral range springs bias both valves toward open positions. The valves include annular elastomers bonded to the edges of the apertured discs. 摘要： An improved fastener stock is comprised of a pair of longitudinal and continuous side members to which are coupled to a plurality of equidistantly spaced cross-pieces. The pair of longitudinal and continuous side members are extended in a parallel spaced relationship, and the series of cross-pieces are arranged at spaced intervals between the side members so as to connect the side members. Along at least one of the side members, a series of engagement notches are present at spaced intervals between each of the cross-pieces members, and the engagement notches are rectangular or square in shape. A method of applying a fastener to an article is provided. The method includes initially feeding a substantially continuous fastener stock from a supply, engaging at least one engagement notch, urging the fastener stock forward, feeding the fastener stock to a needle assembly, cutting a fastener from the fastener stock, and inserting the fastener into an article.

摘要： A system for coupling two or more items with a plastic fastener includes a device for dispensing the plastic fastener and an anvil adapted to support the two or more items to be coupled by the plastic fastener. In one embodiment, the anvil comprises a support block and a plurality of tufts of filaments fixed to the support block. The support block is constructed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and includes a flat top surface. A plurality of holes are formed into the top surface, each hole being circular in lateral cross-section with a diameter of approximately 0.098 inches. Each hole formed in the top surface of the support block is adapted to receive a corresponding tuft of filaments. Each filament is constructed of nylon and is circular in lateral cross-section with a diameter of approximately 0.018 inches.
