摘要： The present application provides a work head for a rotational brush cutter. The work head comprises an upper plate, a lower plate and a blade, the upper plate and the lower plate being fixedly coupled. The lower plate is circular and has a passage therethrough with a gear arranged in the passage. The blade has a body portion and a connection portion with the body portion able to be extended outside of the upper and lower plates. The through passage is designed so that the blade can be replaced without requiring the upper plate and lower plate to be disassembled. As a result, because the blade is not restricted by a narrow space between the upper plate and the main frame, the work head does not need to be removed from the brush cutter to replace the blade thereby saving time and effort.

摘要： A head section for a rotary cutting device includes a body portion that includes a blade passage defined between a blade entrance opening and a blade exit opening. A blade fastening mechanism is positioned in the blade passage and includes a blade engaging member. The blade engaging member is biased by a biasing mechanism to extend across the blade passage at a blade install position. The blade engaging member is movable against the bias to clear the blade passage. A blade having a mount aperture proximate an insertion end thereof is secured to the body portion when the mount aperture occupies the blade mount position and the blade engaging member extends through the mount aperture. The blade can be installed in and removed from the head section without tools, simply by advancing the blade through the blade passage.

A bolt threaded to the blade adapter provides the only clamping force between the rotary cutting blade and the contact surface, which is substantially flat and does not capture the blade. A notch or hole in the outer edge of the hydraulic direct driven spindle may be engaged to hold the hydraulic direct driven spindle stationary relative to the blade during installation or detachment of the blade.

The outwardly directed lobes have the same dimensions as the inwardly directed lobes, and both the spindle and the blade have the same cross sectional or surface area. The inner or minor diameters of the spindle and mounting hole are at least 75% of the major or outer diameters.

The slippage apparatus includes an adapter rotatable with the blade. The adapter also includes a bore defining a sidewall. The slippage apparatus also includes an insert received in the bore. The insert includes an aperture to receive the output shaft, a first radial thickness, and a second radial thickness defining a groove having a bottom surface spaced from the sidewall. The second radial thickness is less than the first radial thickness. The insert also includes a first key extending toward a central axis of the out shaft that engages a keyway in the output shaft. The first key is positioned adjacent the groove. The insert is adapted to at least partially crack at the groove when the blade strikes an object.
