摘要： A device for use in hair treatment comprises a tube (10) having a wall constructed of elements (11, 12) extending in a direction inclined to the length of the tube, or a wall constructed of interwoven fibres (11, 12). As a result of its construction when the tube is contracted from an elongate state to a contracted state, the transverse dimension of the tube increases to permit insertion of a tress of hair through the tube. After insertion of the hair through the tube, the tube is extended which causes the transverse dimension to decrease and compress together the hairs of the tress. The tube is then manipulated into a desired form to thereby impart a required form to the tress of hair. The tube may be performed in the desired form and after insertion of the tress of hair is permitted to revert to the desired form. Restraints (521, 522) may be applied to the tube and hair contained therein and then the tube between the restraints is contracted lengthwise to cause the transverse dimension thereof to increase.

摘要： A hair curler suitable for retaining curls of hair and allowing the administration of hair treatment products to the hair curls while in their retained position, comprising a permeable elastic tube (10) open at one end (10b), the open end and a circumferential region (14) of the tube intermediate the ends being either of a smaller diameter or higher modulus of elasticity than the major part of the tube. The hairdresser draws the tube (10) over his or her forefinger and winds the hair around the portion of the tube (10) between the end (10a) and the waist (14). Once fully wound, the open end (10b) is drawn nullinside outnull to secure the curl in place, without the need for the hairdresser to apply any manual gripping action. The permeability of the tube allows the administration of hair treatment products while the curl is in the secured position and, when treatment has finished, the tube is easily removed by drawing the rim (16) of the open end (10b) back over the treated hair curl.

摘要： By employing the teaching of the present invention, all of the difficulties and drawbacks found in conventional prior art hair curlers/rollers are eliminated. By providing a fully integrated, elongated body member which comprises an elongated central section having a generally rod-like construction, an enlarged loop or eyelet formed at one end of the central section, and elongated continuous, multi-segmented finger member formed at the opposed end of the central section, an easily used, one-piece, clipless hair curler/roller is provided. In addition, all portions of the hair roller/curler are inherently flexible, enabling the central section to be used for receiving the user's hair is wound thereon in the desired manner, and once completely wound thereon, the hair fibers are quickly and easily held in place by flexibly moving the multi-segmented finger member into the loop or eyelet until the hair fibers are locked in place about the central section thereof. Furthermore, the hair curler/roller of the present invention also incorporates color changing, temperature sensitive material formed over a major portion thereof which is constructed for providing a clear, distinctive, and visually recognizable color change. As a result, the use of the hair curler/roller at the appropriate time, or temperature, is easily determined by the user.
