Abstract:
A tire mounting tool configured to maintain a tire with respect to a wheel during a tire mounting process includes a wheel holding portion configured to be affirmatively held with respect to a rim of a wheel. The tire mounting tool further includes a handle portion configured to connect to and hold, at least in part, the wheel holding portion, and a tire holding portion configured to limit movement of the tire with respect to the rim of the wheel.
Abstract:
A Tire Working Apparatus and Method of Use for facilitating the mounting of a tractor tire onto a wheel while the wheel is in a vertical or mounted positioned. The tire working apparatus includes a tire iron for selectively working a bead of a tire adjacent to a rim flange of a wheel, a rotating member selectively receiving said tire iron, and a ratchet wrench. The rotating member further comprises a main cylindrical wall, which includes a lateral aperture positioned substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of said rotating member and selectively receives the tire iron. The rotating member generally has a socket positioned at one end for receiving the square drive of the ratchet wrench.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a tool for supporting and locking a rim or tired wheel in position on a tire mounting-demounting machine for automobile wheels equipped with support table (2) with an axial hole or opening (2a), the tool comprising grip-release device (3) for a tired wheel (TW) or a rim (W) to be handled, and locking means for locking the grip-release device (3) to the support table (2) and/or for locking the rim (W) or tired wheel (TW) against components of the grip-release device (3).
Abstract:
A tool for compressing a run flat device is provided. The tool contains a spool and a belt. The belt is wrapped around spool and the run flat device, and when the spool rotates, an effective length of the belt decreases to compress the run flat device.
Abstract:
A device designed for demounting a tire from a rim at least one of whose seats is inclined outwards, the device being in the form of an insert (4) of length (L) with three faces and whose cross-section in a transverse plane is triangular overall with a contour formed by two long sides (41, 42) and a short side (43), the angle between the long sides being close to the angle between the rim seats and the rotation axis, the length of the short side being essentially equal to the height of the projection of the outward-inclined rim seat, this insert (4) comprising on its face intended to come in contact with a bead seat at least one relief (421, 422) designed to interact with said bead seat (11) so as to keep the insert engaged with the bead.
Abstract:
A center post tire changing apparatus for mounting or demounting a tire from a wheel includes an elongated support post having a wheel support assembly disposed on one end of the support post and a center post connected to and extending upwardly from the wheel support assembly and in coaxial alignment with the support post. A wheel securing assembly is disposed upon the center post, wherein the wheel is securely mounted on the center post between the wheel support assembly and the wheel securing assembly. A bead beaker is preferably permanently secured to the support post and is noted to be continuously adjustable thereon.
Abstract:
A hand-tool is provided for installing and removing a tyre, comprising a substantially elongated body member having a longitudinal axis, the body member further comprising a handle portion (102); a first engagement portion (108), arranged at a first end of said handle portion, adapted to operably engage with a first flange of opposed first and second rim flanges of a wheel, so as to form a fulcrum on the contact point with the first flange; a second engagement portion (112), spaced apart at a predetermined distance in a direction away from said first engagement portion along said longitudinal axis, adapted to abutingly engage with a rim-overlapping bead portion of a tyre.
Abstract:
A wheel assembly includes a collapsible wheel and an airless flexible tire mounted on the wheel. The wheel includes a central portion and a plurality of circumferentially spaced mounting elements attached to the central portion. Each of the mounting elements is movable between a retracted position and an extended position, and may be pivotally attached to the central portion of the wheel and configured to pivot between the retracted position and the extended position. The tire may be positioned on the wheel when one or more of the mounting elements is in the retracted position, and the one or more mounting elements are moved to the extended position wherein the mounting elements engage and support the tire.
Abstract:
The invention relates to bicycle work stands for making repairs and changing and mounting tubeless tires. There is provided a one-sided wheel work stand with a pivotal upper wheel bracket which allows the user to work unobstructed on the wheel and then acts as a device to lay the wheel flat for better sealing. In related embodiments, the work stand is configured to assist a user in adapting 32 mm 15 QR axle hubs and in truing a bicycle wheel while attached to the work stand.
