摘要:
Described are a burner and its method of operation that are useful in providing heat within an enclosure such as the forehearth associated with a glassmelting furnace.
摘要:
Objective of the present invention is to provide a glass melting furnace, a process for modifying a glass melt and a process for producing glass melt, whereby composition-modified glass melt containing an additive component at a high concentration can be produced with an excellent quality. The glass melting furnace 10 of the present invention is a glass melting furnace 10 for adding an additive to a molten state glass to form composition-modified glass melt, discharging the composition-modified glass melt, and a forehearth 20, said forehearth comprising a feed portion to feed an additive, and a heating means to form a heating gas phase portion above the liquid surface of the glass melt to convert the additive from the feed portion into melted particles of additive below the feed portion.
摘要:
A burner recessed from a combustion space in a burner block adjacent the combustion space injects a secondary reactant (a second portion of a first reactant) around and upstream of a stream of a primary reactant (a first portion of the first reactant) and a stream of a second reactant in order to prevent or inhibit deposition of material from recirculating gases in the combustion space upon the burner. The first reactant is one of a fuel and an oxidant while the second reactant is the other of a fuel and an oxidant. The secondary stream may be injected from a continuous annulus formed in an outer body of the burner or from a plurality of radially spaced holes formed in the outer body. The primary stream is injected from one of an inner bore formed in an inner body of the burner and a reactant annulus defined between the inner and outer bodies while the second reactant is injected from the other of the inner bore and the reactant annulus.

The invention relates to a method for heating a material in a zone heated by combustion of a fuel with an oxidant by means of a oxyburner comprising an injector arranged within a block defining a chamber with a confinement index Iconf=(S/S′)×(L/L′)×(1/(1+a/100))=0.10; the fuel being injected into the burner chamber with a rate IF and the oxidant being injected into the burner chamber at a rate Iox such that 0.7=IF=3.6 et 0.3=Iox=5.1, provided that when Iox>3.8 then IF=3.3.

Methods and apparatus for controlling the operation of a burner used for heating liquid glass feeders of a glass furnace. A burner is supplied with a fuel and oxygen. An additional gas is injected so that the sum of the oxygen flow, the fuel flow and the additional gas flow is greater than a minimum cooling flow for the burner.

An oxy-gaseous fuel burner for a forehearth system having an oxygen conduit, a fuel conduit disposed concentrically within the oxygen conduit and forming an annulus between the fuel conduit and the oxygen conduit, a precombustor conduit disposed at the oxygen outlet end of the oxygen conduit, and a fuel tip disposed at the fuel outlet end of the fuel conduit. The outlet of the fuel tip is disposed at or upstream of the inlet to the precombustor conduit.

An oxygen-fuel firing system for a furnace comprising separate, spread apart nozzles for introducing gaseous streams of oxygen and fuel into the furnace at spaced apart locations. The gaseous streams merge within the furnace away from the furnace walls and crown. Thus, the main combustion within the furnace takes place in the central portion of the furnace where a broad flame cloud is created. The broad flame cloud provides a more uniform temperature profile within the furnace for a more efficient processing of materials being melted in the furnace.

Device for improving the heating of a channel (2) for distribution of glass (1), said device including a cylindrical duct (6) connected at its upstream end to means (7) for feeding a premixture of air and fuel gas and whose downstream end (8) opens inside a cylindrical bore (9) in a refractory block (10) inserted in a wall (11) of the channel, said cylindrical bore (9) extending by means of a coaxial cylindrical duct (12), of smaller diameter than that of said bore, the cylindrical channel (6) being surrounded by a sealing ring (13) which covers the face of the cylindrical bore (9) in which said channel (6) is inserted. According to the invention, the device comprises a capillary tube (20) coaxially disposed with respect to said duct (6) and whose diameter is smaller than the diameter of said duct (6), said capillary tube (20) being connected at its upstream end to oxygen feeding means (21) opening at the downstream end (8) of said duct (6) between the end (22) of the coaxial cylindrical duct located toward said channel and the downstream end (8) of said duct (6).
摘要:
A process and installation for heating a channel in which flows a mass of molten glass toward one or more forming machines. The channel includes a vault which carries at least one group of oxyfuel burners connected to a source of oxygen and to a source of fuel gas, these burners being so oriented as to produce curtains of flames directed towards the longitudinal marginal zones of the surface of the stream of molten glass.
