    摘要: The heat exchanger is adapted for cooling a coolant (e.g., water), used to cool a device or an area (e.g., building interior), such as during periods of peak energy cost and usage, to save energy and energy costs. The heat exchanger includes a coolant storage tank with one or more refrigerant circulators in contact with the floor of the tank. The circulators use a refrigerant having a freezing temperature colder than the coolant, with coolant on the floor of the tank forming a layer of ice thereon. A rotary scraper extends up through the tank floor from each circulator, with the scrapers operating to remove the thin layer of ice from the floor as the ice forms. The resulting ice chips are relatively small and thin, thus having a relatively large surface area for their volume in order to maximize melting and rapid cooling of the coolant.

    摘要: The invention consists of a unit 10 including a two-piece, snap together housing made of elements 40 and 50 which forms the orifice seat and the transitions which direct moisture away from the seat area and prevents the accumulation of moisture in the seat area. Left-Hand (LH) housing 50 contains a blind journal and right-hand (RH) housing portion 40 contains a through journal for support and location of the gate 60. Also integral to the RH housing portion 40 are bosses for attaching the snap action switches 80, which determine gate orientation and mounting a gear motor 90, and can generally be referenced as “gate position sensors”. Such switches could also be replaced with other gate position sensors such as know in the art such as hall effect switches, magnetic switches, optical devices, etc.The gear motor provides the driving torque to the gate 60 through a cam-coupling 70, which has four switch detents 71, oriented to an internal shaft indexing means. Insulation members 20, 30 minimize condensation in the housing portions 40, 50 by separating the cold air flowing through housing from the warmer air which surrounds the damper assembly 10. In operation, a temperature sensing device/system senses the compartment temperature and energizes the gear motor 90, rotating the gate 60 into the open or closed position. The position of the gate 60 is determined by the combination of the states of the two switches 80. When used with mechanical controls the gate will rotate 90 degrees per cycle. When used with an electronic control system, the gate 60 can be rotated to any desired position and then stopped.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a mechanical means for defrosting plates used in cold storage. Frost reduces the transfer of heat to the plates and partially or totally obstructs the passage of air. Several methods are used to remove frost from plates: hot water, sprayed steam, hot gas, heating elements. In the present invention, scrapers sweep the surface of the plates to remove the frost. This method allows to remove the frost while the plates are being discharged, which improves the performance of the plates and does not affect the residual charge of the plates. The proposed defrosting system is made up of vertical scrapers located on either side of the plates. The upper and lower extremities of the scrapers are fastened to scraper supports. These supports move along tubular guide bars which are parallel to and located beneath and above the plates. To ensure that the movement of the upper and lower supports is uniform, an endless screw is installed parallel to and centered between the upper and lower guide bars. A pinion is mounted on one end of each endless screw. The pinions located at the end of each endless screw are linked to the pinion of the drive motor by a chain. Limit switches are provided to invert the movement of the scrapers.
