Abstract:
An environmental load information of an information recording medium is recorded on the information recording medium so as to recycle or dispose properly an information recording medium, which is not necessary any more. The information recording medium comprises a main information area (102) for recording or reproducing information and a recording area (101) for environmental load information, which is recorded with an environmental load information of the information recording medium.

Abstract:
A magnetic tape cassette includes a case that is formed by joining an upper half and a lower half, one or more tape reels, a window and a reel urging member having a tape reel contacting portion which contacts an upper part of the tape reel(s), bent arms connected to opposite sides of the tape reel contacting portion and sliding end portions provided at distal ends of the bent arm. A slide groove is provided in an inner surface of a perimeter of a window opening in the upper half and a window member has hold-and-retain portions which hold the sliding end portions in cooperation with a bottom surface of the slide groove into which the sliding end portions have been fitted. A tape reel suitable for use with the magnetic tape cassette, a resinous leaf spring and its production process are also provided. Tape reels housed in a cassette case can be urged toward the lower half by a member whose structure is simple and permits easy fitting and removal. Assorted collection of constituent materials, particularly for assorted collection of resin materials and selective collection of resin materials as separate from metal materials are possible.
Abstract:
In a magnetic tape cassette, a top end portion of a reel urging plate spring for urging a tape reel is subjected to a surface treatment to prevent from a friction. A distance between a couple of flanges of the tape reel is selected to keep a form of the wound magnetic tape, and to prevent the tape running from being disturbed by the increases of a contract resistance of the tape edges to the flanges. Additionally, positioning portions for positioning the magnetic tape cassette relative to a magnetic tape drive device are formed of a differential resin from the resin of the remaining part of the cassette case. Additionally, at least one of both end faces of each guide roller is surface treated so that the end face is not worn through its contact with the cassette half. Further, an information presenting section for displaying variable information is provided at a location other than label areas of the tape cassette.
Abstract:
A fixture for receiving a videotape cassette has a pair of mechanical releases for engaging and operating the mechanical interlocks inhibiting the free access to the videotape contained within therein, thereby exposing a section of videotape and permitting the editing of the tape after being permanently installed within a cassette. A tab having a relatively narrow stem portion and relatively wider base portion includes a releasable dollop of adhesive or double sided adhesive carrier near the stem end and is used in the following method. A new start position for a videotape may be conveniently fixed to eliminate from viewing the otherwise annoying leader material by adhering the tab to the new start position until the tape clears any interfering tension roller, self peeling the tab leaving the exposed adhesive by advancing the tape into the cassette, and wrapping the tape around itself on the wind up spool to adhere two layers of tape together and thereby define the new start position.

Abstract:
In a magnetic tape cassette, a window opening 2 covered with a window member 3 is formed in an upper half 1. At a peripheral portion of the window opening 2, a fixing surface 4 for fixing the window member 3 thereto is formed; and at a portion surrounding the fixing surface 4, a slant 6 is formed. Further, a build-up portion 8 is formed at the portion surrounding the fixing surface 4 and at a corner portion A on the opening portion side of the cassette case through which a magnetic tape passes. At a peripheral portion of the window member 3, a plurality of welded ribs 10 is formed. And, a weld line produced by the resin molding of the window member 3 is located on the welded rib 10.
Abstract:
A method for automatically providing tape status discernible through visual inspection is disclosed. The status a recording medium tape device is determined. The tape, which is housed in a cartridge, has leader tape having segments with distinctive markings. Each of these markings is used to indicate a particular tape status. These markings may simply be a variety of colors with each color indicating a particular tape status. At the time the tape is ejected it is automatically rewound so that a marked segment of leader tape having a marking indicating the tape status, aligns with a reference pointer located on the cartridge such that the marking is visible through the cartridge. An intended advantage of one embodiment of the present invention is to provide an automatic display of the cartridge status. Another intended advantage of one embodiment of the present invention is to allow a user to determine the status of the recording medium cartridge by visual inspection.
Abstract:
A cassette label comprising, an integrated circuit comprising a memory unit and a signal processing unit, an antenna members for carrying out at least a transfer of signals with respect to the integrated circuit, and a label body accommodating the integrated circuit and the antenna members and mounted on a back surface of a video cassette tape, and a video cassette tape comprising, a video tape for recording video signals, a cassette case for accommodating the video tape, and the cassette label mounted on the back surface of the cassette case.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for selectively having a normal cassette containing a recording and reproducing tape or a cleaning cassette containing a cleaning tape loaded therein is provided to detect, for example, on the basis of information stored in a semiconductor memory or an ID board of each cassette, whether the loaded cassette is a normal cassette or a cleaning cassette and, if a cleaning cassette is detected, to limit performance of a cleaning operation to only a predetermined time.
