The system includes a system computer and a multidimensional database accessible by the computer, the multidimensional database having objects stored thereon. Object model software executing on the system computer for instantiates and inflates specified objects up-front a first time the database is accessed, and instantiates and inflates objects which are not specified objects on demand as the nonspecified objects are accessed. The object model software employs an object model which includes a dataspace having at least one dataserver. At least one cube object is stored on each dataserver, each cube object having at least one saved view of data. At least one dimension object is also stored on each dataserver, each dimension object having at least one saved subset of elements.

    摘要: The present invention provides methods, apparatus and systems for cost conversant classification of objects. In order to achieve this, we create an efficient tree structure to store different classification rules. The methods particularly relate to objects with multiple attributes and classification rules that are defined in terms of these attributes. The techniques can handle rules that can be represented as a single or multiple hypercubes in attribute space. Furthermore, the present techniques are effective when the number of relevant object attributes are large and no specialized classification hardware is accessible. Such methods can be used in various applications such as classification of web sessions in an e-commerce application, classification of connection request in TCP connections etc.

    摘要: Methods for accessing relevant data from data sources for presentation, and computer readable media for the same are provided. One exemplary method defines multiple dimensions. Then data sources are identified that contain relevant information for the dimensions. Next the data sources are accessed through an abstraction layer. The abstraction layer performs the operations of transferring portions of the relevant information to a data structure and displaying the selected portions of the relevant information. Some notable advantages of the discussed methods include the ability to create virtual dimensions by building a hierarchical table structure from data in a flat file. The use of an abstraction layer allows for ease of modification and efficiency in presentation, since only the user requested data is presented. In addition, the customer is provided dynamic reports in real-time, thereby allowing for time sensitive and mission critical business decisions to be made with current data.
