    摘要: In the building of a carcass structure for tyres of vehicle wheels, the step of reinforcing with a loop at least one annular anchoring structure (10) associated at the axially opposite end edges of a carcass ply is carried out. Said reinforcement step is carried out on at least one radially expandable/contractable service drum (107a, 107b) and comprises the steps of: setting the service drum (107a, 107b) to a predetermined radial dimension selected according to the fitting diameter of the tyre to be manufactured, depositing the loop (5) on the service drum (107a, 107b), loading the annular anchoring structure (10) onto the service drum (107a, 107b) in a radially outer position with respect to the loop (5), radially expanding the service drum (107a, 107b) up to lock in position the annular anchoring structure (10), rotating the service drum (107a, 107b) about a longitudinal axis (X-X) thereof and, during such a rotation, turning the loop (5) up about the annular anchoring structure (10).

    摘要: During tyre manufacture, a belt structure is made according to the following steps: preparing strip-like elements, each including longitudinal thread elements disposed parallel to each other and at least partly coated with at least one layer of elastomeric material; applying the strip-like elements in mutually approached relationship along the circumferential extension of a toroidal support, following a predetermined laying trajectory identified on the toroidal support itself so as to form at least one reinforcing layer having a continuous circumferential extension around a geometric rotation axis. During application of each of the strip-like elements, the toroidal support is moved following a predetermined three-dimensional path in order to make the strip-like elements adhere to the outer surface of the toroidal support according to a longitudinal extension line of the strip-like element coincident with the predetermined laying trajectory.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for applying a ribbon-like coating structure to the outer surface of a tire bead core. A bead core (2) is coaxially placed around a support drum (6) carrying an inflatable air bag (7) disposed in a deflated condition. Clasping sectors (14) circumferentially distributed in the drum are radially moved close to the inner surface of the bead core (2) to make a central portion of a ribbon-like coating structure (3) arranged about the inflatable air bag (7), adhere against the bead core itself. The air bag is inflated so as to form, on opposite axial sides relative to the bead core (2), two lobes (17, 18) each of them being enclosed between the outer surface of the drum (6) and a respective annular opposition bell (19, 20) coaxially encircling the drum. By axially moving the opposition bells (19, 20), a first and a second side flap of the coating structure (3) are applied to respective surfaces of the bead core (2). The second flap overlaps the first flap and is fastened thereto on the radially external surface of the bead core (2).

    摘要: According to the present invention, a bead assembly consisting of a combination of a ring shaped bead core, a bead filler and a flipper is manufactured by continuous automated steps, whereby productivity is greatly improved. The present invention is characterized by the steps of providing bead locking drums on the free end portions of a plurality of rotary arms arranged radially around the center of rotation thereof, and turning and stopping these rotary arms sequentially so as to set a bead core on a bead locking drum stopped in a first stopping position A, wind a bead filler around the bead core set on the bead locking drum stopped in a second stopping position B to form a bead assembly, and then take out the bead assembly formed on the bead locking drum stopped in a final stopping position D. A third stopping position C is set between the second and final stopping positions, and a flipper is pasted on the bead assembly stopped in this stopping position C.

    摘要: Strands of steel bead wire or the like are individually surrounded with rubber and the rubber is then partially cured sufficiently by irradiation so that the rubber remains moldably plastic and the final cure will completely cure the rubber. Each bead core when completed is often enclosed in fabric. The completed bead assembly is incorporated in the carcass of a tire. When the tires, including the carcass, tread, etc., are cured, the rubber in the beads is completely cured and the beads are securely bonded to the balance of the tire.
