摘要: 3D printers may fabricate tires with graphene-based materials. Biopolymers may be used to produce graphene foam. Molten salt synthesis with metallic powders may produce coatings for the foam to protect the tires from oxidation. Graphene oxide sheet may also be applied to the tire structure using an inexpensive bio-adhesive.

摘要: An apparatus for building tyres for vehicle wheels are described. A substantially cylindrical carcass sleeve, having at least one carcass ply, includes consecutively adjacent strip-like elements laid one after the other around the circumferential extension of a substantially cylindrical deposition surface. Circumferentially consecutive strip-like elements laid one after the other form overlap zones along respective longitudinal edges superimposed on each other. Each overlap zone has, along a longitudinal extension thereof, terminal sections that are laterally opposite with respect to an intermediate section. The intermediate section of each overlap zone has greater width than the width of the terminal sections.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a process and an apparatus for cutting a continuous rubber-covered belt in a process for building tyres for vehicle wheels, wherein the apparatus comprises a cutting group, in turn comprising: a knife formed by a first half-part and a second half-part and movable along a cutting direction that is tilted with respect to a supply direction of a rubber-covered belt placed beneath the knife. The process comprises: lifting a lifting element placed below the continuous rubber-covered belt and at the cutting zone, until a portion of rubber-covered belt is lifted, and lowering the single first-half part of the knife, making it slide with respect to the second half-part.

摘要: To accurately cut a ply for a tire. It is a cutting device 1 for cutting a ply 10 for a tire in which a plurality of cords 12 parallelly arranged at fixed pitches are coated with an unvulcanized topping rubber 10. It has a pitch increasing means 2 for increasing the pitches of the cords 12 by pressing the ply 10 from a second surface 10b side to a first surface 10b side of the ply 10 so as to stretch the ply 10 toward the first surface 10a side; and a ply cutting means 3 disposed on the first surface 10a side of the ply 10, for cutting the stretched portion of the ply 10 along the cords 12.

摘要: Provided is an extruder and a method for extruding cord reinforced tire components, wherein the extruder has an extruder head with a die and a cord guide. The die is provided with a cross sectional profile that defines a first cross section of the extrusion material in the die, wherein the cross sectional profile has a profile height. The cord guide is arranged for guiding the cords into the die at a cord entry height. The extruder head is provided with first heating elements. The extruder has a control unit that is operationally connected to the first heating elements for generating an adjustable height temperature gradient in the extrusion material across the profile height to control swelling of the extrusion material relative to the cord entry height from the first cross section to a second cross section after the extrusion material leaves the die.

摘要: A process for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels includes associating at least one reinforcing structure with at least one surface portion of at least one tyre component laid on a forming support, wherein associating the at least one reinforcing structure includes bringing, through a handling and deposition member, at least one reinforcing element to the forming support and depositing, through said handling and deposition member, the reinforcing element on a respective deposition part defined on a surface portion of the component. The depositing includes gradually laying the reinforcing element on the deposition part following the profile of the deposition part in a circumferential direction.

The tire building drum (10) comprises: a cylindrical drum main body (12) having an outer peripheral surface (14) a diameter of which is capable of being increased and reduced; and a coating (16) formed on the outer peripheral surface of the drum main body. The coating (16) includes a silicon layer (26) defining a surface of the coating (16), and the silicon layer has a surface roughness Ra of 10 μm or greater. The tire building drum (10) requires no application of stearic acid onto the surface thereof in release of the green tire.
