    摘要: A threadless pipe fitting of the "stab-in" type wherein a fluid tight connection between a cylindrical conduit and fitting is achieved merely by inserting the fitting upon the conduit end. An annular elastomeric seal within a groove defined in the fitting conduit receiving bore engages the conduit outer surface in a combination compression and lip seal manner wherein both elastomeric compression forces and fluid pressure forces maintain a sealing engagement between the seal and conduit. Additionally, set screw means radially threaded into the fitting mechanically maintain the conduit and fitting assembly, and the set screw includes torque limiting means for preventing excessive radial forces, and the nose of the set screw means is shaped to provide maximum frictional engagement with the conduit with minimal radial force.

    摘要: A pipe coupling is disclosed which is especially adapted for vehicle engine exhaust systems and comprises telescopically fitted pipe ends which are preformed with trough shaped deformations which nest together in the initial assembly of the pipe ends. A bolt extends through openings in the pipe walls in the bottom of the deformations and a spacer and nut are disposed on the outer end of the bolt. In final assembly the nut is tightened and the pipes are drawn together in the vicinity of the deformations whereby the outer pipe is stretched around the end of the inner pipe and the bolt and nut retain the pipe ends in the stressed condition to maintain a close fitting engagement. To facilitate assembly and fluid tight sealing the bolt, spacer and nut are mounted on one of the pipe ends and stand-off means are provided to maintain the head of the bolt in spaced relation to the bottom of the deformation. The opening in the other pipe end is in the form of a slot so that the inner pipe may be slidably inserted into the outer pipe until the shank of the bolt seats against the end of the slot. The tightening of the nut to a predetermined torque is effective to draw the bolt through the openings against the resistance of the stand-off means and to draw the pipe ends together in the vicinity of the deformations. The deformations are provided with special configurations to facilitate the drawing together of the walls of the pipe to enlarge the area of engagement and thereby enhance the fluid sealing property of the coupling.

    摘要: A downpipe fitting for coupling between top and bottom ends of a downpipe. The downpipe fitting includes two parts connected together and rotatable relative to one another about a longitudinal axis thereof. The first part has an inlet, sized and shaped to couple with an outlet of a first section of the downpipe, above the downpipe fitting. The second part has an outlet which is sized and shaped to couple with an inlet of a second section of the downpipe, below the downpipe fitting. The inlet and outlet of the fitting define a flow path for rainwater therethrough. Rotation of the second section of downpipe below the downpipe fitting, about the longitudinal axis, is decoupled from the first section of downpipe above the downpipe fitting.

    摘要: A crimping machine including a first shaft having a first crimping portion and a bead wheel and a second shaft having a tapered portion disposed opposite the bead wheel of the first shaft. The first and second shafts are configured to grip a pipe blank having a transverse channel including a first angle. The first and second shafts are further configured to roll the pipe blank forward while crimping a portion of the pipe blank with the first and second crimping portions and applying pressure on the transverse channel of the pipe blank. The crimping machine further has having a tapered portion disposed opposite at least a portion of the crimping portion and the bead wheel of the first shaft. The bead wheel is configured to push upon the forming shaft to bend the first angle of the transverse channel formed in the pipe blank to a second angle.
